FORMER MARTINSVILLE MANAGER NOT CHOSEN IN TEXAS
A former Martinsville city manager, who was recently terminated, was not selected for the city manager position in Elgin, Texas.

The Martinsville City Council voted to fire Aretha Ferrell-Benavides on August 7, shortly after placing her on administrative leave.

Aretha Ferrell-Benavides was among the final candidates for the city manager role in Elgin. However, during a meeting on August 19, the Elgin City Council chose a different candidate for the position.

Former Martinsville City Manager Not Selected in Texas

-Martinsville City Council voted August 7 to fire Aretha Ferrell-Benavides after placing her on leave.

-Ferrell-Benavides was among the finalists for city manager in Elgin, Texas.

-On August 19, the Elgin City Council voted 6-3 to appoint Wayne Reed instead.
