PRESS RELEASE-FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Raceway Underway New Years

(Marysville, CA 12/27/25) The 2026 Marysville Raceway season is scheduled to get underway on Thursday January 1, 2026. The annual practice and test and tune held traditionally on New Years Day will kick off the season. The event will be held from noon to 4.

All oval track cars that have track approved safety roll over protection and driver safety gear are eligible to run on New Year Day. “It becomes a potpourri of racing,” explained track manager Dennis Gage. Everything from the lightest most powerful open wheel car to the nostalgic vintage car that raced 50 years ago will be on hand,” he concluded.

Marysville Raceway is located just off Simpson Lane next to the Marysville Flea Market in the Yuba River flood plain.
The ¼ mile clay oval has operated for more the 60 years at this location. Over time it has had numerous configurations and operators. Improvements over the last decade have made the facility rival any California oval track operation and draws a large contingent of racers and fans.

25 events were held in 2025. Winged 360 sprint cars led the lineup with the most events and veteran driver Billy Wallace was crowned champion. Wallace a multi time track champ was joined by sport modified driver Mark Garner who outran Jimmy Ford by a mere 10 points. Kyle Cheney of Yuba City dominated the Hobby Stock division and won the championship by over a 30 point margin. Caleb Ingle and Jacob Johnson had a spirited battle for the Crate Sprint title with Ingle edging Johnson by 2 points.

While the 2026 schedule is still being compiled a similar program to 2025 will be held. The winged sprint cars will be the headline division, joined by Crate Sprints, Hobby stocks, and Sport modifieds. Special events will include the SCCT sprint cars, and Monster Trucks. The first Motorcycle race in more than a decade will also be held in June of 2026.

The pit gate will open at 11 A.M. on Jan. 1 and will be the only gate open. Pit passes are $30 per person regardless of age and are good for the entire day. The Grandstands will be closed to spectators. Pit spectating will be allowed. Food and beverages will be available noon to 3. Weather predictions are favorable for Thursday, and every effort will be made to get the event in.
