Postpartum visit with a wonderful repeat client and Natasha B. - Birth Wishes Doula (and her adorable girls)!

This mama had a big surprise when her water broke at 34/35 weeks gestation. Her home birth plan changed to a hospital transfer and a nicu stay for baby boy (although he came out over 7 lbs and breathing great).

But Mom and Dad did such a great job handling the twists and turns of their entire birth. And big sister was thrilled to stay with Grandma so much 😂

Navigating the nicu is hard, especially when it's your first experience with birth and postpartum in the hospital. But this handsome guy was totally worth it 🥰

This was such an amazing birth- for Mom, Dad, Sister, Grandma, and all the birth workers! Mom worked beautifully as she birthed her over 9lb baby!

This was the 2nd time Natasha B. - Birth Wishes Doula and I were honored to support this sweet family- and it was SO worth the 75 minute drive to their house! We were joined by the amazing midwife, Caeli Werner, and her sweet assistant, Sadie. It was truly one of the best births I have ever attended 🥰

But the REAL best part?! The excitement and joy Big Sister showed in helping Mom labor and meeting her new baby sister 🤩 Nothing is better than that ❤️

Postpartum snuggles with this super sweet and adorable little boy 🤩 Who cares if I held him so long that my arm fell asleep?!

He is going to have to work hard to keep up with his THREE older sisters, but that will be worth it because he'll be spoiled being the only boy and probably the last child! His parents chose to keep his s*x a surprise, so they were ecstatic when he was born and Dad announced "boy!" And I was SO happy for them, too 🥰

Amanda Keating & the Christian Birth Workers of St. Louis did such a great job organizing it, and I had the honor of being the MC/interviewing Dr. Stu for the Q&A portion!

He was so happy to answer all of our questions and seemed to really enjoy the more intimate setting of our event. Dr. Stu is such a fountain of knowledge and research! He is so down-to-earth and easy to talk to; he made my job as MC really easy!

The Evening with Dr. Stu event through the Christian Birth Workers of St. Louis group last night was so fun! For those of you who don't know, Dr. Stu (along with his midwife friend Blyss) host the wildly popular Birthing Instincts podcast.

We learned lots of great information about twin pregnancies, vaginal breech birth (one of my FAVORITE topics, as you know), and home birth in general 🥰

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!

I am now offering postpartum doula services, including overnights 🥳

I am still offering doula services for any repeat clients and friends, but to be honest, I am getting too old and have too many kids to be on-call 24/7 and pulling all-nighters with birth doula clients more than once a month 😂 I'm also still a midwife's assistant for Harmony Health and Home Birth - Southern Illinois!

But after careful prayer and consideration, I've realized that postpartum doula care is going to be a great addition to my business! I can't wait to cuddle the babies and mother the mothers through this service 🥰
