⚠️ Portions of northern Iowa are currently being monitored for a severe weather watch. Remain weather aware this afternoon!

⚠️ Severe Storms Possible This Afternoon ⚠️

⛈️Heads up for parts of the Upper Mississippi River Valley, including portions of northeast Iowa, southeast Minnesota, and southwest Wisconsin.

Storms are expected to develop this afternoon and a Severe Thunderstorm Watch is possible. The chance of a watch being issued is around 60%. ⛈️

Main threats:
🌨️ Large hail — possibly up to 2 inches in isolated stronger storms
💨 Strong to damaging wind gusts
🌪️ A brief tornado cannot be completely ruled out

The greatest concern is for storms that can become organized and possibly super cells. This would increase the risk for large hail and damaging winds.

Make sure you have multiple ways to receive weather alerts this afternoon and be ready to move indoors if warnings are issued. 📱🏠

* Until 815 PM CDT.

* At 713 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Dougherty, or 13 miles northeast of Hampton, moving east at 15 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* At 712 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Marble Rock, or 15 miles northwest of Allison, moving east at 20 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

* This severe thunderstorm will be near... Marble Rock around 720 PM CDT. Nashua around 800 PM CDT.
