We all tell stories. But how often do we really listen to the stories of the people we’re trying to reach?

In the newest episode of The Story Craft Podcast, I sit down with Thaler Pekar, an award-winning expert in institutional storytelling and founder of Thaler Pekar & Partners.

Thaler’s work spans 18 years, coaching leaders around the world on how to use narrative to connect, engage, and build trust.

It’s never been easier to build a “personal brand.”

And never harder to know if it’s actually… you.

In the newest episode of The Story Craft Podcast, I sit down with Dawn Duplantier Robinette, MA, APR, Fellow PRSA, founder of Tale to Tell Communications, to talk about what it really means to communicate who you are in today’s polarized, noisy world.

For a long time, I thought purpose was something you had to find. Like it was out there somewhere… waiting for clarity, certainty, or the “right” moment.

What I figured out over time is that belief was keeping me stuck. And I actually figured out how to communicate from my purpose once I took action!

Here's what I learned...You don’t find your purpose, you step into it. And often, it’s much closer than you think. 😉

We’re so used to asking: “Did I win or did I lose?”

But what if the better question is: “Am I growing?”

In this episode, Kyle shares why real growth is often quiet and why we miss it when we’re only looking for big, visible results.

We hope this episode shifts how you see your own progress. 😃

Most people don’t talk about the lonely part of entrepreneurship. The part where you believe in yourself…before anyone else does.

In our newest episode of The Story Craft Podcast, I sit down with Jenny Young, founder of , to talk about what it really takes to build a small business rooted in relationships and community.

Jenny’s story is powerful!

She built her videography business by:
• Serving small businesses first
• Showing up consistently in her local community
• Supporting nonprofits
• Sitting on boards
• Giving back generously
• And trusting her creative instincts when stability would’ve been easier

She didn’t build her brand around algorithms. She built it around people. And that’s what makes it sustainable.

As we talked, I kept thinking about Whole Story Living — this idea that we get to author our lives instead of reacting to them. Jenny chose authorship!

Ever notice how suddenly everyone online is talking about the same thing?

One minute you’re scrolling. The next, your feed is flooded with hot takes, reactions, and recycled opinions about the Super Bowl halftime show.

In our newest episode of The Story Craft Podcast, Kyle Adams slows that moment down and asks a deeper question: Who’s actually driving our attention?

Kyle explores how social media algorithms quietly shape what we see, what we think about, and what we believe matters and how easy it is to lose ourselves in the noise.

But once we're aware of what's going on, we can be better communicators by going back to our whole stories, those grounded in our values.

In this episode, Kyle also shares simple, grounded practices for staying human in a digital world: choosing values over virality, presence over performance, and face-to-face connection over endless scrolling.

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed by social media or disconnected from what really matters, this conversation is an invitation to reclaim your agency and come back to yourself.

I’ve been thinking a lot about what it really means to lead. There are a lot of qualities in a good leader, but here are the ones I admire and try to bring to life on a daily basis:

-Humility. People trust leaders who are real. Owning mistakes and giving credit shows others they can be honest too.

-Leadership is non-transactional. Put people first. Build relationships, not transactions.

-Be interested, not interesting. Talk less about yourself and more about the people you lead. Ask about their kids, their hobbies, their lives. How you make people feel lasts. Maya Angelou said it best, people remember how you make them FEEL.

-Make room for failure. Growth takes time. Let people stumble, learn, and try again.
