DID YOU KNOW....
..before he became “Big Tex”, he was actually a Santa Claus?

In 1949, the town of Kerens, Texas built a 49 foot tall Santa Claus to draw visitors to their local shopping district.
Then in 1951, the structure was sold to the Texas State Fair and was modified to become “Big Tex”, making his debut in 1952.
