It’s ok to admit that you chose the wrong people early in your career to look up to. Over time, they expose themselves as people who couldn’t care less if you had a pulse tomorrow. Get rid of em. Ride solo if you have to. It’s better to chase s**t alone than along side frauds.

Earlier in my professional wrestling career I thought kissing ass was the name of the game. Who ya know. Who could put in that good word for ya.

Over time I realized ya know what, I think I’m pretty darn good at what I do. So I’m going to stop doing that ass kissing and just work hard. Network my ass off. And EARN opportunities.

I find it hilarious that now 13 years into this industry, that people who have been in longer than me, are STILL politicking and kissing the ass to get booked. It’s quite pathetic.

Also, if you’re an independent wrestler with big dreams, I do root for you. But please, have a back up plan. Have a plan when the WWE doesn’t sign you. Overlooks you. Thinks your too old or not a fit. HAVE A BACKUP PLAN because you’re supposed to be a grown adult with hopefully a family to lean on. If not, you’ll wind up setting up bulls**t “GoFundMe” stuff because you bet it all on pro wrestling. Have. A. Back. Up. Plan.

To those who have been injured or do the raising funds thing to help those in actual need, I salute you and root for you. Those trying to raise funds because you’re not an adult and didn’t have a backup plan for life, that’s on you.

Not bitter. Just an observation I see as years go by. Earn your s**t because when it’s rewarded, it feels so much better than “ah I’m good friends with this guy so he got me in”.
