The people you spend time with are shaping your future whether you realize it or not.
You don’t wake up one day disciplined, successful, healthy, financially secure, or spiritually strong. You become those things little by little through the conversations you have, the content you consume, the standards you tolerate, and the people you allow into your circle.
Success leaves clues. So does mediocrity.
Spend enough time around people who complain, make excuses, avoid responsibility, and blame everyone else, and eventually that becomes normal. Spend enough time around people who are building businesses, strengthening marriages, raising strong children, taking care of their bodies, growing their faith, and embracing accountability, and that becomes normal too.
Guard your circle. Guard your mind. Not everyone deserves access to your attention. The voices you listen to today become the thoughts you think tomorrow. Those thoughts become actions. Those actions become your life.
One of the most important chapters in Men Are Forged, Not Found is called Guard Your Circle, Guard Your Mind. Because the quality of your life is often determined by what—and who—you allow to influence it every single day.
