Building a stronger community, one pancake at a time! Please join the Mattoon Kiwanis club as they host this annual tradition. The Kiwanis Club of Mattoon will be having our annual all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast on March 1, 2025 at the Mattoon Middle School. We will be serving from 7:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Please see your favorite Kiwanian for tickets!

Tickets are available to Mattoon and Charleston Chamber of Commerce members to see the Weeklings Beatles Tribute on Saturday, March 8 at the Doudna Center.

The tickets are free and there are a limited number available so please let your Chamber know as soon as possible if you would like to have tickets.

Details: Discover all that Lake Land College offers during Laker Visit Day! This event is for prospective students who are interested in learning more about Lake Land College. Prospective students will be able to tour campus with a student ambassador, meet with faculty, and learn about student services. Prospective students are welcome to bring their parents/guardians along. A session will be offered for them, too! The event will take place from 9 a.m. until noon with check-in at the Luther Student Center lobby. Register online at:

Yuengling Inauguration Day will soon be here. The first pours in Coles County at Mattoon's historic Castle pub on Monday, January 27 at 5 p.m.!

The Castle will tap TWO kegs of Yuengling, the Traditional Lager and the Flight! Buy a pint for $4, refills for $3 and you get to KEEP the glass! The specialty glassware won't last long as quantities are limited!

So exciting to see so many businesses opening in our city! We have a ribbon cutting for Bealls on Friday, Nov. 1 at 8:45 am and a ribbon cutting for ProRehab on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 5:00 p.m.

ProRehab is located in the newly remodeled building at 1813 Broadway Ave. (formerly Aabell's Sales & Service).
