Album Review! This time Jon and I go over the latest offering from Indiana power prog/ thrash metal act Idol Throne with their new EP "Harbinger of Light". Despite not really considering myself much of a big power metal fan there's something about this band that just appeals to me. It might be the balance of soaring guitar harmonies and leads coupled with the razor sharp thrashy riffage. It might be that with each album they get tighter and continue to lean into more lavish prog metal song structure or even the fun, throwback 80's metal hooks. It's probably all of those things and if you're a fan of bands like Judas Priest, Coroner, Queensryche and Forbidden then definitely check this one out! 🤘😈

Album Review! This time Jon and I go over the latest offering from Belgian black metal legends Enthroned with their new album "Ashspawn". Yet another one coming in just under the wire for 2025 that we wanted to check out and we're glad we did. Though I liked their last album "Cold Black Suns" it had been awhile since I jammed this band and they may have come back even more fiery than before. This album is as dark and menacing as it is explosive and fast as hell. Maniacal vocals, twisting cold riffs, light speed blasting coming together in a blasphemous whirlwind of evil. If you're a big fan of bands like Mayhem, Marduk, Tsjuder and Satyricon then definitely check this one out! 🤘😈

Album Review! This time Jon and I go over the latest offering from Norwegian death metal legends Blood Red Throne with their new album "Siltskin". While we might be winding down as far as new releases go we still have a few on the list and there was no way we were going to miss this one. Norway's death metal scene might not be as prolific as it's black metal scene but with riff driven, groove laden, brutal as hell bands like this it's one to look into. This is no frills death metal that lurks somewhere between OSDM and brutal death metal and even after 12 albums they sound as bloodthirsty as ever. If you're a big fan of bands like Cannibal Co**se, Monstrosity, Suffocation and Dying Fetus then definitely check this one out! 🤘😈

Album Review! This time I go over the debut full length from Florida death metal supergroup Malefic Throne with their album "The Conquering Darkness". Featuring the fierce trio of Gene Palubicki (Angelcorpse, Perdition Temple), John Longstreth (Origin, Hate Eternal) and Steve Tucker (Morbid Angel, Arise from Worms) this album is absolutely savage and moves at the speed of light (or darkness in this case). Menacing, high speed riffing and drum work that at times seems inhuman couple with gruff, demonic vocals, as a death metal fan it's hard to miss here. If you're a big fan of bands like Deicide, Nile, Vader, Krisiun and pretty all the bands these guys are in then definitely check this one out! 🤘😈
