Album Review! This time Jon and I go over the latest offering from Boston technical deaththrash act Revocation with their new album "New Gods, New Masters". With 9 albums under the band's belt we pretty much convinced that main man Dave Davidson is an unstoppable juggernaut of riffs and leads. This band, while retaining it's core sound, has be slowly evolving over time but this one seems to bring some older sounds back and even push into some proggier directions at times. If you're a big fan of bands like later Death, Arsis, Atheist and hemotoxin then definitely check this one out! 🤘😈

Got my latest package from The Metalhead Box as well as some new I was sadly expecting with the service. Due to tariffs imposed by the US government/ Epstein's island buddy we're no longer getting shirts with this service as the cost has gone up significantly and they don't want to have to charge us, the subscribers, more to offset that cost. I appreciate their transparency with this and I honestly can't blame them for taking this course of action. Hopefully things change in the future. Be patient with us, Canada. Either way, I still got some cool stuff to go over so check it out. 🤘😈

Album Review! This tie Jon and I go over the latest offering from Portland, OR death metal act Tithe with their new album "Communion in Anguish". As scathing as that are hard to categorize this band's blend of death metal, black meta, doom metal and even grindcore is visceral and dark hell. Lots of twisting dissonant riffs and melodies swirling around blast beats and intense vocal changes, this album can go from bleak and despondent to feral in a second. If you're a big fan of bands like Incantation, Drawn and Quartered, Caustic Wound and even a bit of Burnt by the Sun then definitely check this one out! 🤘😈

Album Review! This time Joe and I go over the latest offering from Australian blackened death metal act Werewolves with their new album "The Ugliest of All". This band has released an album every year since they came together and there has yet to be a dip in quality or intensity. This band's blasty, vicious, snarling style of blackened death metal still has touches of grind in it to further ramp up the intensity and more than enough irreverent/ cynical lyrics to appease deviants like us with our love of dark humor. If you're a big fan of bands like Misery Index, Marduk, Deicide and Malevolent Creation then definitely check this one out! 🤘😈

Album Review! This time Jon and I go over the latest offering from NYC stonerdoom act Castle Rat with their new album "The Bestiary". This band's notoriety/ hype seems to be climbing here as of late and honestly I can see why. Their love of monolithic stonerdoom riffs, lush atmosphere and catchy vocal harmonies might only be slightly outweighed by their love of fantasy themes and performance art. Not only are we singing about swords and sorcery here but we're enacting it live. If you're a big fan of bands like Black Sabbath, The Sword, Saint Vitus, Trouble and Windhand then definitely check this one out! 🤘😈

Album Review! This time Jon and I go over the latest offering from UK melodic deathdoom legends Paradise Lost with their new album "Ascension". As a long time fan of this band this was among one of my most anticipated releases this month. Where some bands seem to lose steam in their later years Paradise Lost has been releasing some of their strongest material in their later years. Gloomy, downtrodden melodies woven around huge lumbering riffs and capped off with amazing vocal dynamics of Nick Holmes, this was exactly what I wanted from the band and possibly more. If you're a big fan of My Dying Bride, Katatonia and Type O Negative then definitely check this one out! 🤘😈

We are finally back with another discography ranking as Jon, Joe and myself go through and rank the albums from Swedish melodic death metal legends At the Gates! Sadly this one is particularly bittersweet with the tragic passing of vocalist Tomas Lindberg (we recorded this before it happened) but it was amazing going through this band's amazing work that literally changed the metal landscape forever. RIP, Tomas. You are missed and your contributions to the evolution of the music we love will never be forgotten! Check it out! 🤘😈

Album Review! This time Jon and I go over the latest offering from Wisconsin death metal act Yotuma with their new album "The Final Void". Years ago we did a little thing called Denver Deathfest and this was one of the many underground acts that graced the stage and we decided to check in with what they've been up to. This band's sound has always been about headbanging grooves and ferocious death metal riffs but this band is every so slightly expanding their sound a bit with some more brutal death metal elements mixed in. If you're a big fan of bands like Suffocation, Chimaira, Dying Fetus and 200 Stab Wounds then definitely check this one out! 🤘😈

Album Review! This time Jon and I go over the latest offering from German atmospheric black metal act Der Weg Einer Freiheit with their new album "Innern". This was legit our first exposure to this band and we figured since they were going to be at MDF next year we'd check them out. While atmospheric black metal kinda works as a blanket term there's also a lot more to this from snarling more aggressive black metal to soaring, lush melodies and even moments of shimmering, gloomy goth rock here and there. Fiercely melodic but also densely packed with huge guitars and intense drum work this might be a band we need to dive into a bit more and catch live. If you're a big fan of bands and like Gaerea, Drudkh, Wolves in the Throne Room and Imperium Dekadenz then definitely check this one out! 🤘😈

Album Review! This time Jon and I go over the latest offering from Australian metallic hardcore/ death metal act Nicolas Cage Fighter with their new album "I Watched You Burn". With a band name like that it's hard for me to not want to check them out and thankfully their just as fun as their namesake. This album is packed with chuggy riffs, pummeling grooves and an old school tenacity that brings me back to a lot of cool stuff I listened to in the 90's. The name might be silly but they're clearly serious about wrecking necks. If you're a big fan of bands like Unearth, Earth Crisis, Creeping Death and Judiciary then definitely check this one out! 🤘😈

Album Review! This time Jon and I go over the latest offering from North Carolina progressive metal legends Between the Buried and Me with their new album "The Blue Nowhere". This was easily one of our most anticipated albums coming out this month and even this year as this band generally crafts a wild, crazy musical journey on every album and this is no exception. The stylistic twists and turns are plentiful as always and the musical talent on display is simply jaw-dropping. While not really conceptual this time this album still catapults you into a strange universe that seemingly only BTBAM could score. If you're a big fan of bands like Haken, Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree, Faith No More and myriad of other bands then definitely check this one out! 🤘😈
