It was a pleasure to encounter two teachers from the Mcghee school District at the AAIM conference. They had extended an invitation to me to speak in 2015 or 2016, approximately ten years ago, when I had only published two books: Christmas night on the farm and Grandma’s Thanksgiving Dinner. The experience I had in McGehee was truly remarkable, and it encouraged me to persevere in writing books and sharing stories with children at every available opportunity.
