Do you have a favorite go-to third-party website when searching for a home? If so, let me share some interesting details with you when looking there:
1. Those websites may not always be up-to-date with any changes in price, status, or photos - so you may be seeing outdated info.
2. Be careful who you share your info with regarding these sites. The agent you think you may be connecting to may not be the one that website connects you with. This has happened with my buyers and as a listing agent. You may also continue to receive unwanted calls from that same third-party website. Check out what happened over the weekend to a potential buyer who was simply looking for info on one of my properties.
----> I was unavailable to take a call when it came in on Saturday. No voicemail was left so I was planning on calling back regardless. I also had an email through this same third-party site that I had a new lead - the contact info was the same, so great, someone has requested info that I was happy to share -which I was about to do.
----> That same phone number called me back as I was closing out the email. I answered the call to find someone very displeased asking me to stop calling - which mind you, I had not called yet. We hung up and it proceeded again with another call. I went into the app and marked the lead as a spam lead as the potential buyer was simply looking and did not want more info than what he was reading.
----> This continued for a a few hours and each time a new lead was generated with the same info. I did this each time and finally the calls and emails stopped. I can't imagine how this guy was feeling.
The point of the story - pay close attention to where you are sharing your info because you won't know where it will be going, stored, or who may be calling you as a result of it.
As an agent, I never share your info with anyone and everything is always 100% confidential. If you have questions on any homes you see available - whether another agent's or mine, don't hesitate to reach out and ask any questions. I will never spam you or push you into anything. Forgot to change the clocks back—so I’ve already scheduled three showings, made coffee, and questioned reality. ☕😂
That moment when your clients are “running late”… but it’s actually you, living in the wrong time zone. 🤦♀️
Fell back? More like fell into confusion. At least my listings don’t need adjusting! 🏠
