OKM Music Festival Kicks Off “Under the Stars” at Woolaroc with Grady Nichols and
the Manhattan Chamber Players
Bartlesville, OK — The 41st Annual OKM Music Festival opens with an unforgettable evening “Under the Stars”
at the iconic Woolaroc Museum & Wildlife Preserve on Saturday, June 7. This year’s festival celebrates the music
and legacy of Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg, alongside an array of world-class performances and familyfriendly programming.
The evening begins at 7:00 p.m. with Billboard-charting saxophonist Grady Nichols, known for his soulful,
unprogrammed performances. Nichols has shared the stage with legends including Ray Charles, the Beach Boys,
and Wayman Tisdale. His ten studio albums include holiday favorite Falling in Love with Christmas, which
reached #2 on the SmoothJazz.com charts, and London Baby! which remained on Billboard’s Jazz chart for over
six months.
At 8:30 p.m., the Manhattan Chamber Players return for their second year, performing a dynamic program
featuring Grieg’s Holberg Suite, Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 12 in A Major, K. 414, and Grieg’s Piano Concerto
in A Minor, Op. 16. Founded by violist Luke Fleming in 2015, the ensemble comprises top-tier musicians trained
at prestigious institutions such as The Juilliard School, Curtis Institute, and New England Conservatory.
Joining the ensemble is internationally acclaimed pianist David Fung, praised for his elegant yet emotionally
powerful interpretations. Fung has appeared with major orchestras across the globe, including the Cleveland
Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Israel Philharmonic, and San Francisco Symphony.
In addition to spectacular music, the event will feature food trucks, children’s activities, and a festive atmosphere perfect for all ages. To conclude the evening, patrons can expect a wonderful fireworks display.
