Sadly, we were notified that Jesus Márquez who starred in our micro-budget film El Evangelista passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on March 21, 2025. He leaves behind a wife and two children. This year will mark 20 years from when we filmed the movie. Jesse was only a teenager when he starred as the young car thief. Before HD was accessible to no-budget filmmakers like us, we were shooting on our trusty Canon XL2 in Standard Def. Thanks to modern technology we can remaster in 4K without too much trouble and can share our work on streaming platforms like TUBI. However, things would’ve been so much better if today’s 4K, 6K, 8K and 12K cameras were available to us. Stay creative folks!
