JACKSON - It's hard to be a good team twice, but the Jackson Ironman did just that with a, 24-21, win over the Miami Trace Panthers Friday night at Alumni Stadium.

The Ironmen defeated the Panthers, 41-27, on October 17 when the teams met in Frontier Athletic Conference play.

The game Friday night was a Division III Region12 quarterfinal playoff game. Win or go home!

It was a game pulled from a movie script. A team is just about out of it, but goes on a late game drive to score a touchdown to pull a victory out the clutches of defeat.

The game saw three lead changes and 21 points in the fourth quarter alone.

Senior Wesley Clagg aided by the rest of the Jackson defense brought down a Miami Trace ball carrier on a fourth down play right at the first down mark with 4:21 remaining in the contest. When the officials measured the ball was just short of the line to game and Jackson took over on downs.

What ensued was a 10-play 64 yard drive that ended with Jackson quarterback Bodhi Wolford finding Ryan Seimetz in the corner of the end zone to give Jackson the lead and send them to the regional semifinals.

Jackson will travel to London Friday to take on the top seeded Red Raiders.

Look for a full game story in the Tuesday, November 11 edition of the Vinton-Jackson Courier.
