Northern Creek Standard Poodles

Northern Creek Standard Poodles AKC Titled, UKC Titled, OFA tested, Poodles for Service, Alert, Therapy and family companion. My Husband and I live on a small horse farm in Northern Michigan.

We grew up close to where we live now. We married right out of High school and have been married for 30 years. We have raised three boys, which are all grown and starting their own adventures. All our dogs have awesome temperaments, calm and eager to please. They also come from health tested parents and layered with champion lines. These are our companions, they are part of our family, spoiled lik

e our children. They live inside our home and are well taken care of at all times. We work very hard at maintaining their coats. Just so that they are always clean and ready for work in the community. We have earned CGC, CGCA, CGCC, CGCU titles and recently added Trick Dog Novice (TDN) to our titles (canine good citizen AND advanced, Community, Urban). They are active certified TDI therapy dogs and have recently acquired certification for working as a Therapy dog team. We are very proud of our girls and their hard work. It takes smarts, balance, well mannered, kind, and gentle dogs to complete and pass the courses required to hold these titles. My dogs love to service our community when their harness goes on they are excited to do their job. We hope that you will choose us as your breeder. We promise to do our best to bring beautiful healthy puppies. Come meet our dogs! You are always welcome. Beautiful Northern Michigan is where we are located.

Hue is this sweet lovable guy that will roll over for a good belly scratch. He will hear me. Immediately his nose is up. 😂 I'm beginning to think I need more showers. He plops down and rolls over.. Already training me for later. He has a gorgeous black coat coming. Something about the black standard poodle I just love them.

Sketch has such a personality already. He is always making me laugh. Last night he was full of growls and mouthing. He even got in a few puppy kisses when I turned my attention somewhere else. He let's everyone know when he thinks something new is in the room. His little bark barks radiate cuteness thru the house. He is such a pretty brown guy. Everyone had full baths today and new photos, but I just wanted to point out a few events this week that happened. You will be amazed at their change in just a week.

Gloss is a absolute beauty. She is a big girl. She's weighing in one of the largest just over 3 # at 20 days old. I had a girl like her once from Jayda. She was from our tree litter (cherry). While she was big as a puppy. She wasn't overaly large as a finished adult. I think she weighed in around 55 as an adult. Which is very similar to Jayda. So she will take after grandma for.her size. Finally seeing some play biting. Wow can they move around the pen now. We moved to the family room this week. Everyday we introduce a new object building up to bigger objects as we go along..

Happy Three weeks
Meet Sketch, he is a beautiful brown boy. They all have fabulous coats coming in. We have trimmed nails twice now since they were born. They grow so fast not just in weight but they are starting to look and act more like puppies. Sketch like the majority of the scents except lemon. He is definitely one to watch for a prey drive and or counter surfer. 😁 He is also the one who discovered he had 4 wheels and a noise maker too. Our Mr. growls caught on video. He still goes around in the box barking and growling. His eyes are now open.

Happy three weeks,
Meet Hue, he has his eyes open and was one of the first to have a reaction to a dropped potty tray yesterday. I generally don't drop stuff just outside their box, but I did yesterday and he startled. Some can respond more sensitive then others. This is my job to broaden that scope so they are less and less reactive to sudden sounds. He enjoyed the scents of a leaf, pheasant, grass and peppermint. Maybe a outdoorsy kinda guy, but my guess is a lower prey drive. He loves to give lots of puppy kisses and full of grunts and coos when holding him.

These are notes nothing more puppy's evolve as we move along in my program, but I look extensively at who needs more of something. Understanding a response and working to create a more positive response in the future. The next 7 weeks we work hard to give them the courage to step out into our big world and be apart of your life.

Happy Three weeks
Meet Picasso, he has his eyes open, but hasn't responded to noise yet, Maybe a few more days more and he will have hearing. He loves to be cuddled, will yawn if you scratch his chin. He enjoyed the scents of banana, leaf, orange, lavender, pheasant, clove, grass, and peppermint. I should have just done the ones he didn't for a shorter list. He is one to watch for some good skills in retrieving and possible hunt. I always like to compare these tests to what I see later, some are on point, others are a miss. This is just a moment in time to see if we get a response. Give them smell experience before they can even walk.

Happy three weeks to our Boys!
Meet Canvas, he was our baby of firsts. He was the first to open his eyes and react to when I came in the room. He is a traveling man in the whelping box exploring his new world. Canvas enjoys the scents of lemon, banana, orange, pheasant, clove, and apple. Maybe he will like counter surfing most, seems like its all food related. 😂Put it this way, this guy is never late for a meal, being the largest in the litter right now.

Happy 3 weeks
Meet Gloss, she has a fabulous cream coat, already very thick and curly. She is a beautiful puppy. She enjoyed the smells of banana, a leaf, lavender, pheasant, grass and peppermint. While her eyes are open I'm still not seeing that she hears much yet. This week is a slow shift in introducing things into the box. Today was the first potty tray now that they are toddling around. She is the hardest to photograph. She is not liking my baskets or thinks the fur is her mom.

Happy 3 weeks
Meet Easel, her eyes are open. I'm not sure she hears quit yet. . She's a beautiful solid brown girl. She really doesn't mind a tummy rub and being placed on her back so far. This changes by the day. We covered 11 scents. She found lemon, a leaf, orange, lavender interesting. She seems more in the middle for scents. Lincoln and Cricket have very little prey drive so this so far doesn't suprise me.

Happy 3 weeks
Meet Tempera
She did great on the early neurological stimulation phase of our program. She has her eyes open and her hearing. She's a beautiful solid black girl already loves to give puppy kisses. We have now moved into the introduction of sound. Soft radio playing, a dropped item far enough away so we don't startle them to much.. We covered 11 scents so far. She found lemon, pheasant and peppermint interesting. While she won't be the hunter in this painting crew. She will still find a good game of fetch.
