Daisy O. Irvin, 84, of Chesterhill, passed away Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, at Highland Oaks in McConnelsville.

She was born August 18, 1942, in Chillicothe, OH, to the late Edgar and Ruth Snyder Kaltenbach.

She was a homemaker and seamstress and was a member of the Salvation Army in Chillicothe.

This year marks the Morgan County Agricultural Society’s 174th Annual Morgan County Fair. The fair will open on 8 a.m. next Tuesday, Sept. 8, and end on Saturday, Sept. 12. The Morgan County Fair Board and Junior Fair Board have worked hard to bring the county five days of fun, entertainment, education, and excitement for the whole family’s enjoyment.

Daniel L. Thompson, 72, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2026, at The Ohio State University James Hospital. On May 21, 1954, Daniel was born in Zanesville, Ohio, to the late Ralph Thompson and Ruth Brill.

Daniel graduated from Morgan High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was proud to serve his country as a firefighter in the U.S. Air Force. After being honorably discharged, Daniel served his community as a Franklin County Deputy Sheriff. He was a man of great character and integrity.

Daniel met the love of his life, Theresa Lauterbach, in 1973. He was passing by a storefront when he spied Theresa working on the display. Daniel told the buddy he was walking with that he was going to marry that lady. They married on June 1, 1974, and together shared 52 wonderful years of marriage.

🚨 MISSING PERSON – CAMBREA ROSE RAYBURN 🚨
The Morgan County Sheriff's Office is currently attempting to locate Cambrea Rose Rayburn, age 20, of McConnelsville, Ohio.

Description:
• Race: White female
• Height: 5'4"
• Weight: Approximately 107 lbs.
• Hair: Blonde
• Eyes: Hazel
• Last Seen: August 15, 2026
• Address: 5980 North State Route 60, McConnelsville, Ohio 43756

Cambrea is known to spend extended periods of time outdoors and has previously spent approximately three to five days in the woods behind her residence. She considers herself a survivalist and, when she left her residence, took what her family described as a survival pack with her. (Winter coat, Poncho, Bath Towel, Filter Straws, Clothing)

The Sheriff's Office, with assistance from search personnel, with the Washington County Sheriff's Office, K-9 "SOOGA" and MW Drones with their thermal unit, has conducted multiple searches of the area, and will continue to do so. Despite these efforts, Cambrea has not been located.

The Morgan County Sheriff's Office is officially investigating Cambrea as a missing person. A statewide BOLO notification has been issued requesting a well-being check if she is located. We will update this BOLO to a Missing Persons. These BOLO's have National reach when queried by Law Enforcement.

If you have seen Cambrea or have any information regarding her whereabouts, please contact the Morgan County Sheriff's Office at 740-962-4044.

Any information or sightings, no matter how insignificant they may seem, could be helpful in locating Cambrea and ensuring her safety.

I'd also like to thank the property owners in the area for their patience and understanding of our search teams being on their properties while we try to resolve this situation.

The Morgan Community Fund (MCF) is bringing the Fill the Freezer campaign back to the Morgan County Fair for the second consecutive year and rallying the community to fight local hunger – one pig at a time.

The campaign invites buyers at the fair’s September 12 junior livestock sale to donate their hog purchases to fill the freezers of Morgan County United Ministries’ food pantry.
