“Walk With Your Head Held High, Mama Christmas”
A Poem from Game Changers Media Network to Mayor Sandra Vincent
Walk with your head held high,
Madam Mayor—
for your journey has been woven
with hearts, healing,
and the holy work of lifting people
from broken places.
You stepped into leadership
not with a hammer of authority,
but with the gentle hands of a healer.
You stitched together wounded spirits,
patched broken trust,
and poured love into the cracks
where this community once bled.
For every heart bruised by struggle,
you offered compassion.
For every soul weighed down by life,
you offered a smile filled with light.
For every person unheard and unseen,
you offered your ear—
your time,
your presence,
your whole heart.
They tried to break you,
tried to twist your truth,
tried to wound you
with words, attacks,
and shadows cast from every angle.
But your spirit—
rooted in grace
and watered by purpose—
never bent, never buckled,
never surrendered.
You showed us that redemption
is not just a destination—
it’s the walk.
It’s rising again.
It’s loving again.
It’s choosing peace
even when war comes knocking.
And every holiday season,
you transformed into Mama Christmas—
a beacon of joy,
a messenger of hope.
Because you knew that love
is the greatest tool for healing,
the greatest force for rebuilding,
the thread that ties
a fractured community
back together again.
You never put policy over people.
You made policy with the people.
You governed with heart,
led with humility,
and mothered a city
that didn’t always know
how much it needed your love.
So lift your chin,
square your shoulders,
and walk with your head held high—
because healing carries your fingerprint,
redemption carries your name,
and this community
still carries your love.
You are still
Mama Christmas.
Still the heartbeat of hope.
Still the healer of broken wounds.
Still the woman who showed us
that leadership is love in action.
Walk with your head held high—
for your love
changed lives,
mended hearts,
and built a legacy
that cannot be undone.
