* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Portions of Illinois, including the following areas, Cook, De Kalb, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, Lee, and Northern Will and northwest Indiana, including the following areas, Lake and Porter.

* WHEN...From late tonight through Saturday morning.

* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Roads and streets may be flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Showers and thunderstorms late tonight through Saturday morning may produce widespread rainfall rates up to 2 inches per hour that could lead to flash flooding, particularly over urban areas.

Additional thunderstorms Saturday evening into early Sunday morning have the potential to produce torrential rainfall that results in flash flooding, though the exact placement of this rainfall remains unclear. A second Flood Watch for flash flooding may be needed during this period.

Shooter Charged With Murder Following Ingleside Shooting

Lake County Sheriff’s Detectives say a man arrested following a fatal shooting in Ingleside has now been charged with murder.

According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, detectives continued investigating the July 24, 2026 shooting and, after reviewing the facts and circumstances with the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office, approved three counts of Murder against Kendrick Williams, 33, of the 2200 block of Hebron Avenue, Zion.

Williams was originally arrested and charged with a judge-on-scene warrant on September 9, 2026. He was taken into custody on September 15 in front of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation stems from a shooting at approximately 3:10 a.m. on July 24. Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a disturbance in progress in the 25900 block of West Janelle Drive in Ingleside.

When deputies arrived, they found an individual who had been shot and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Deputies also located another individual with an apparent gunshot wound, who was taken into custody without incident. A firearm was recovered from that individual.

Investigators said several other people were inside the home at the time of the shooting but were not injured. Deputies also found an adult male deceased inside the home from what investigators described as an apparent gunshot wound.

The Lake County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene, and an autopsy was scheduled as part of the investigation.

Sheriff John D. Idleburg credited detectives with continuing to work the case and said he hopes the development provides some measure of closure as the case moves through the court system.

Williams is due in court today. The Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office has filed a petition seeking to detain Williams in custody while awaiting trial.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office released its weekly arrest summary covering September 7 through September 13, 2026. The following arrests were reported:

Maria Isabel Rojas, 60, of Round Lake Beach — arrested September 7 at Grand Avenue and Sherwood Avenue in Lake Villa for DUI – Alcohol.

David A. Wasikowski, 44, of unincorporated Antioch — arrested September 7 on Channel Lake for Operating a Watercraft Under the Influence of Alcohol.

Kahdija D. Terry, 32, of Hillside — arrested September 8 in the 20500 block of North Rand Road in Deer Park on a warrant for burglary and retail theft.

Micalia L. Kline, 23, of unincorporated Round Lake — arrested September 8 in the 34100 block of North Wineberry Lane in unincorporated Round Lake on a warrant for violating an order of protection.

William L. Upton, 34, of Evanston — arrested September 10 in the 25500 block of Route 173 in unincorporated Antioch on a warrant for DUI – Drugs.

Luis A. Salgado, 44, of Deerfield — arrested September 11 at the Lake County Jail for Aggravated Battery to a Correctional Officer. Salgado was listed as detained in the Lake County Jail.

Robert Javelosa, 62, of Volo — arrested September 11 in the 100 block of Abbott Park Road in North Chicago for Criminal Trespass to Property.

Angela R. Zamitalo, 42, of Whitewater, Wisconsin — arrested September 12 in the 26100 block of West Channel Road in unincorporated Antioch on a warrant for Criminal Trespass to a Vehicle.

Brian Winfrey, 34, of Waukegan — arrested September 12 in the 1600 block of Rice Street in Waukegan for DUI – Alcohol, Reckless Driving and Cannabis Violation.
