West Carroll Schools Spotlight Students of the Week
WEST CARROLL (November 25) — The West Carroll Special School District announced its newest round of students of the week from its primary, elementary and junior/senior high schools. The three students — Jax Simmons, Malia Moore and Jacob Powers — were each nominated for their kindness and willingness to help others.
Kindergarten student Jax Simmons is West Carroll Primary School's student of the week, nominated by Ms. Brandi.
"Jax is always happy and smiling. He loves to bring a smile to everyone’s face," said Ms. Brandi.
Third-grade student Malia Moore is West Carroll Elementary School's student of the week, nominated by Ms. Brianna.
"Malia has stood out because she has been especially involved in our class discussions and consistently offers thoughtful contributions. She is always willing to help both teachers and classmates whenever she can, and her kindness and initiative make a positive difference in our classroom each day," said Ms. Brianna.
Eighth-grade student Jacob Powers is West Carroll Jr/Sr High School's student of the week, nominated by Ms. O’Bryan.
"Jacob is a consistently excellent student who is very wise and mature for his age," said Ms. O’Bryan. "In class, Jacob is always helping his peers understand content in a way that makes sense to them as an individual, even when he hasn’t been asked to. He is always willing to do anything that is asked of him, and he does it with a smile. Jacob is a genuinely kind human, and he understands the value of hard work. After almost every marching band rehearsal, Jacob would come to me and ask, 'Ms. O’Bryan, is there anything in particular that you want me to work on tonight?' After a full day of school, a 2.5 hour rehearsal, and tending to his lawncare business, he was always ready to go the extra mile."
The West Carroll Special School District also recognized West Carroll Primary School pre-kindergarten teacher Olivia Bryant as teacher of the week.
West Carroll honors three students and one educator each week for their efforts in the classrooms.
