Battalion Chief Jason Arnold Works To Improve Mental Health Support

McKENZIE — Battalion Chief Jason Arnold has joined Tennessee’s statewide crisis response strike team, a unit formed under the Tennessee Fire Chaplains Association and the Department of Health. The team provides mental health and crisis support to first responders and the public during natural disasters and emergencies.

Arnold, a lifelong McKenzie resident, recently completed training for the team and says it gave him valuable insight. “I gained a lot of knowledge about helping first responders cope with difficult calls and crisis situations,” he said. “We’re also trained to assist the public in times of natural disasters, like tornadoes and floods.”

Same Team, New Name
FSB Insurance, a trusted name in the region for insurance services, has officially rebranded as Sunstar Insurance Tennessee, reflecting its long-standing affiliation with Sunstar Insurance Group, the 30th largest independent agency in the nation. While the name is changing, the same familiar faces and dedicated service remain unchanged.
“We’ve been a division of Sunstar Insurance Group for almost eight years, and this transition simply brings all eight Tennessee locations under one name,” said Micki Cunningham, McKenzie branch manager. “Customers can expect the same great service, same team, and same commitment to our community.”

McKenzie Banking Company: ‘Your Hometown Bank Since 1934’

For over nine decades, a cornerstone of downtown McKenzie has been McKenzie Banking Company. Though the financial institution has grown into a regional presence as Foundation Bank, with six locations across northwest Tennessee, it remains, as the sign says, “your hometown bank since 1934.”

A charter was filed with the State of Tennessee on February 21, 1934, and the first meeting of the board of directors was February 23, 1934, where B.T. Everett was elected president.

The bank first opened its doors on March 3 at 15 Broadway Street, now the McKenzie Memorial Library.
