Moxie smelled a grey fox in our back yard late the other night (way before she could’ve possibly seen him).
She gave me a very low growl to warn me, which was just enough time for me to get a glimpse of him sneaking across the yard.
It was a proud moment for this maligator mom. And it wasn’t the first sighting either.
Apparently we have a grey fox living in our mystical backyard. Which isn’t great news for the chickens next door. Lol! 🔥❣️🦊
Apparently gray fox sightings are so rare, NJ Fish & Wildlife wants me to send video I have of Fredd Fox to them. (My brother is a forester in NJ and I guess he mentioned to someone that I have a gray fox here.)
Fredd here steals Trapper’s (and Pumpkin’s, who I haven’t seen since last August) food and leave the bowls on my cousin’s property next door. 🙄😂. Yesterday evening I saw Fredd and I went back to see if Trapper was still eating. Luckily, Trapper was finished because Fredd here will bully him. Methinks Fredd scared our little red fox, Foxxy Brown, off.
This is why it’s really important Trapper John gets used to me and can get along with the others. The only way he’s guaranteed regular meals is to learn to eat in the yard. Fredd here would never get that close to me. Gray foxes are even more elusive than red foxes.
Fredd sure is a handsome little feller, though. Isn’t he? 🥰
