**Three Arrested Following Fatal DWI Crash on I-20 in Arlington**

ARLINGTON, Texas — Arlington Police have arrested three men in connection with a deadly crash Saturday evening that left a 22-year-old man dead. The incident occurred just after 7:30 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 20 near Bowen Road.

According to authorities, the crash involved a 2004 Ford F-150 pickup truck and a 1997 Mitsubishi 3000 GT. Investigators say the Mitsubishi was parked on the shoulder of the highway when the pickup veered off the roadway and struck it from behind. The force of the impact pushed the Mitsubishi into a concrete wall, sparking a fire that engulfed the vehicle.

When Arlington firefighters extinguished the flames, they discovered the remains of a 22-year-old man inside the Mitsubishi. His identity has not yet been released by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Witnesses at the scene reported seeing three men flee from the pickup truck immediately following the crash. Arlington officers quickly located and detained all three nearby.

Police identified the driver of the Ford pickup as 25-year-old Cesar Ramirez Castro. After conducting roadside sobriety tests, officers determined he may have been intoxicated. He was arrested and booked into the Arlington City Jail on charges of intoxication manslaughter and collision involving death. Ramirez Castro is being held on an immigration detainer.

Two passengers in the pickup, identified as 30-year-old Marcelino Ramirez-Ramirez and 24-year-old Daniel Castro Zammarron, were arrested for public intoxication. Both men are also being held on immigration detainers.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.

**One Dead in Suspected Drunk Driving Crash on I-30 in Grand Prairie**

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas — A suspected drunk driving crash early Sunday morning resulted in the death of a passenger and has prompted an ongoing investigation by the Grand Prairie Police Department.

The incident occurred shortly after 5 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Interstate 30 near MacArthur Boulevard. According to authorities, a Dodge truck towing a utility trailer had pulled onto the emergency shoulder to adjust its towing straps. While the truck was stopped, a Nissan passenger car struck the utility trailer from behind.

Investigators believe the driver of the Nissan was intoxicated at the time of the crash. The passenger inside the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, who sustained injuries, was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive. Authorities have stated that the driver will face a charge of intoxication manslaughter upon release from medical treatment.

The driver of the Dodge truck was not injured in the incident. Neither the identities of the Nissan driver nor the deceased passenger have been released at this time. The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the deceased once next of kin have been notified.

The crash remains under investigation by the Grand Prairie Police Department.

At approximately 5:47 p.m. on March 22, emergency crews from Fort Worth Fire Department, Police Department, and MedStar EMS responded to reports of a vehicle that had entered the river near the intersection of Beach Street and East Freeway, close to the Trinity River bridge.

**Three Arrested in Lake Worth for Lawn Equipment Theft Following Resident Tip**

LAKE WORTH, Texas — Police in Lake Worth arrested three individuals accused of stealing lawn equipment from a neighborhood trailer, thanks to a timely 911 call from a watchful resident.

According to the Lake Worth Police Department, the call came in after the resident spotted suspicious activity involving a Chevy Tahoe with a distinctive gold driver’s door. Officers quickly responded and intercepted the vehicle as it attempted to leave the area.

Inside the Tahoe, officers discovered the stolen equipment. The vehicle’s center seats had been removed, a detail police say may have been intended to allow more room for transporting stolen property.

The suspects — 19-year-old Joel Valderas, 39-year-old Pavel Lopez, and 36-year-old Luis Gallardo, all of Lake Worth — were taken into custody and charged with theft of property.

Authorities believe the group may be connected to other similar cases. They are encouraging other agencies with related investigations involving a late-model Chevy Tahoe with a gold driver’s door to reach out to Lake Worth detectives at [email protected].

Police credited the arrests to the observant resident, saying their quick action likely prevented additional thefts that night. The department emphasized the ongoing importance of community involvement in helping law enforcement protect neighborhoods.

**Teen Sentenced to 40 Years for Fatal Shooting Outside Bowie High School**

ARLINGTON, Texas — A teenager has been sentenced to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to the murder of 18-year-old Etavion Barnes outside Bowie High School in 2024. The shooting, which took place on April 24, shocked the community and prompted renewed scrutiny of school safety protocols.

Julian Howard admitted to shooting Barnes outside the high school during a confrontation. Despite emergency medical assistance, Barnes succumbed to his injuries.

The incident led to an immediate lockdown of Bowie High School as law enforcement and school officials responded to the unfolding crisis. In the aftermath, an after-action report was released, detailing both the strengths and challenges of the school’s emergency response. Among the concerns were communication breakdowns and issues with the reunification process for parents and students.

The case has sparked wider discussions about campus safety, youth violence, and the effectiveness of current policies in preventing and responding to such tragedies.

Howard will be eligible for parole after serving a portion of his sentence, but the conviction marks a sobering end to a case that has left a lasting impact on the Arlington community.

**Fort Worth Gang Member Sentenced to 40 Years for Double Murder Committed at Age 15**

FORT WORTH, Texas — An 18-year-old man who took part in two murders in Fort Worth as a 15-year-old has been sentenced to 40 years in prison as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors.

Dontrell Cummings, a known member of the Bone Crushing Gorillas gang, pleaded guilty on Friday in a Tarrant County auxiliary state district court to two counts of engaging in organized criminal activity-murder. The charges stem from two fatal shootings that occurred over a six-day span, one of which was tied to an ongoing gang feud.

Justice Lee Gabriel accepted the plea agreement and handed down the 40-year sentence. According to court records, Cummings will be eligible for parole after serving 20 years behind bars.

The two murders shocked local communities and sparked broader discussions about youth involvement in violent gang activity. Authorities said the crimes were part of a string of violent incidents linked to gang disputes in Fort Worth.

The Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office has not released further details about the cases, including the names of the victims or the specific circumstances surrounding the shootings.

The case highlights the growing concern among law enforcement and community leaders about the recruitment of minors into organized gangs and the severe consequences that follow.

**Over $150K in Stolen Construction Equipment Recovered in Dallas Raid**

White Settlement police, in partnership with the Dallas Police Department, have recovered more than $150,000 worth of stolen construction equipment in a major theft investigation. The operation, carried out on the morning of March 21 on Garza Avenue in Dallas, also resulted in one arrest and the seizure of illegal drugs and fi****ms.

The investigation began a month earlier when construction equipment was stolen from a job site on N. Jim Wright Freeway in White Settlement. The victim later discovered his property listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace, which led detectives to obtain a search warrant.

During the raid, officers recovered multiple stolen items, including a motorcycle from Fort Worth. Ulysses Medina, 26, was arrested at the scene. He faces multiple charges, including a probation violation for drug possession and additional warrants out of Plano and University Park.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are possible. Authorities thanked the Fort Worth Police Department for their assistance and reaffirmed their commitment to recovering stolen property and holding offenders accountable.
