**Garland Police Investigate Officer-Involved Shooting; No Injuries Reported**

Garland Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred early Sunday morning near the intersection of Broadway Boulevard and Colonel Drive.

The incident happened around 1:45 a.m. on July 27, 2025. According to police, the individual involved was not injured and was transported to a medical facility for a mental health evaluation.

Two officers have been placed on paid administrative leave, which officials say is standard procedure in officer-involved shooting investigations.

No additional details about what led to the incident have been released, and the identities of those involved remain undisclosed as the investigation continues.

**High-Severity Collision Blocks Lanes on IH 635 at Scyene Road**

A high-severity collision caused traffic delays Saturday evening on southbound Interstate 635 at Scyene Road.

The incident was confirmed at 7:48 p.m. on July 26, 2025. Emergency crews responded to the scene, where two lanes remained blocked as cleanup and investigation efforts continued.

Current lane status following the crash:

Lane 1 (Shoulder): Cleared
Lane 2 (Main Lane): Cleared
Lane 3 (Main Lane): Cleared
Lane 4 (Main Lane): Cleared

**Twelve Arrested After Protestors Breach Dallas Building During Gaza Demonstration**

Twelve people were arrested Friday afternoon during a protest in Dallas after demonstrators entered a building in connection with ongoing demonstrations over the conflict in Gaza.

The Dallas Police Department reported that officers were called to the 2500 block of North Harwood Street around 4:45 p.m. after protestors entered the building. Police said an "unruly crowd" began to gather as officers attempted to make arrests, prompting a request for additional backup.

By the end of the incident, 12 individuals had been arrested. Nine face criminal trespass charges, two are charged with interference with public duties, and one faces charges of interference, resisting arrest, and assault on a public servant.

One person was transported to a hospital as a precaution after reportedly bumping heads with another individual during an arrest.

The names of those arrested have not yet been released pending jail booking, and the investigation is ongoing.

**Suspect Arrested After High-Speed Chase Through Grand Prairie and Dallas**

A suspect was arrested early Friday morning after leading multiple police agencies on a high-speed chase through Grand Prairie and Dallas, reaching speeds of more than 100 mph before crashing into a concrete barrier.

The incident began around 1:30 a.m. when Grand Prairie police attempted to stop a pickup truck pulling a utility trailer. The driver refused to pull over, sparking a pursuit that lasted more than 30 minutes and involved multiple law enforcement agencies.

During the chase, the suspect drove erratically, at times entering lanes of oncoming traffic. The pursuit ended when the driver attempted a U-turn under the Interstate 635 bridge at Jupiter Road, lost control, and crashed into a concrete barrier in a construction zone.

The driver was taken into custody at the scene and is facing multiple charges. No injuries were reported.

The suspect’s identity has not yet been released.
