Reasons I utterly detest LLMs

Large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Google's AI Mode tick me off. Plenty of people hate on LLMs without even trying them. I decided to try LLMs during a major chronic illness flare-up that prevented me from consistently thinking about anything, thus preventing me from working on my blog like I needed to. Blame low blood volume/cerebral perfusion contributing to overall…...

You might be autistic if…

You don't understand what happened in a conversation until it registers three days later as you're trying to fall asleep. You don't laugh at jokes when everyone else does. No one knows when you're joking because your face and tone remain the same OR don't align with allistic humor standards. You love puns and literal jokes. You pause and rewind audio a lot because it hasn't registered yet....

How I increase traffic to my lifestyle blog

Growing a lifestyle blog in 2026 is harder than it was in 2016. Less build-it-and-they-will-come, more intentional effort. Because of this, the assumption is that lifestyle blogging is dying. Lifestyle blogging isn't dead. It was never dead. What's dying out is cheap, effortless content anyone could put out. You may as well be playing Fetch games instead -- more instant gratification, less compounded effort paying off later....

me filling out the MRI forms earlier this year: oh wow, so many implantable devices...glad I don't have those! never gonna happen for me. this is not that serious

me in May to my cardiologist: I'm not getting a loop recorder implant without sedation

medical assistant: how about moderate sedation? the procedure takes about 10 mins

me: I guess I'll try

things i can't have anymore bc of :

- ice cream. makes me immediately presyncope
- caffeinated soda. great until it feels like i've turned into a slow song
- really sugary foods. like cake with icing. apparently what it does to me is related to this.
- regular-sized/heavy meals. i have to eat smaller meals to avoid fainting
- garlic, onion, idk. i still do onion powder, but garlic triggers flares.
- carbs alone. they have to be paired with protein to prevent blood sugar spikes/crashes.
- tea. 😭 idk how to enjoy herbal tea anymore fml adding sodium feels wrong

Learning a lot of new language since I got ill last year that could have also helped me for years regarding autism, especially the boom or bust cycle and pacing.

I'm going to try and explain it but please bear in mind this is relatively new to me and will be a very simple explanation of something quite complex so please research further if it interests you.

The theory is that many chronically ill or disabled people get into a boom or bust cycle, where they go hell for leather and give 100% effort when they feel a little better (boom) and then end up completely wiped out for a while and need to recover (bust). Once feeling somewhat better the cycle begins again.

Being in this cycle can result in their baseline functioning getting lower and lower and they end up able to do less and less over time.

What it means in regards to my new neurological conditional is that I can't let my heart rate go 20 bpm over my resting heart rate because that triggers my nervous system to think there is danger and my symptoms get worse (slurred speech, gait dysfunction, vertigo, migraine).

In regards to autism this would differ from person to person but might involve reducing exposure to sensory input, limiting social situations etc. It could explain why we end up in constant burnout cycles throughout our lives that end up being triggered quicker, lasting longer and take more effort to recover from.

Pacing would involve limiting our activities when we feel good, even when we feel like we can do more, to give our nervous system a sense of safety and allow it to build on that. If the nervous system recovers and then we immediately push it to it's extremes again we are going to reduce its ability to feel safe long term.

The idea is that if we don't push our nervous system and we allow it the safety it needs, over time our baseline ability to cope will increase.

Of course this isn't easy with family, work, responsibilities and commitments. We are put in a tricky spot.

And the modern world is a sensory hellscape.

And resting is seen as a weakness or laziness.

And we have to figure out what our baseline is, with no physical measurements, like heart rate, to go off.

So yeah, not easy!

Do you know more about pacing? I would be keen to learn more and I'm sure others would value your knowledge too!

Excuse my rubbish diagram 😂

Ways orthostatic intolerance is changing my life

Last year, I began declining mentally and physically...only this time, I didn't stop 'til a hospitalization. My heart stopped beating for 10 seconds. I ended up on a leave of absence I predicted -- but I didn't expect to be out for 3.5 months. The first half of 2026 has been spent hemodynamically unstable and navigating healthcare with specific health needs....

Went to ER yesterday, got a lactated ringers bolus due to critically low blood volume & dehydration making my worse.

Also got various scans bc of recent fall.

Now I'm resting and aiming to stay hydrated. My body wasn't holding on to any fluids or food, so I was sooo nauseous and hungry. Now, I'm less nauseous and can actually eat!

I feel like I'm hungover, though. Or like I'm recovering from the flu. Exhausted AF. Also a bit annoyed my body keeps betraying me when I'm trying to live my life 😭

But relieved that I've got the vocabulary now to know why I didn't remember things well in the past. I literally couldn't. So I'm doing my best.

And I know I was already too much for a lot of people but 💁‍♀️ they can go find less (and most already have 💅).
