Last year, I began declining mentally and physically...only this time, I didn't stop 'til a hospitalization. My heart stopped beating for 10 seconds. Went to ER yesterday, got a lactated ringers bolus due to critically low blood volume & dehydration making my worse.

Also got various scans bc of recent fall.

Now I'm resting and aiming to stay hydrated. My body wasn't holding on to any fluids or food, so I was sooo nauseous and hungry. Now, I'm less nauseous and can actually eat!

I feel like I'm hungover, though. Or like I'm recovering from the flu. Exhausted AF. Also a bit annoyed my body keeps betraying me when I'm trying to live my life 😭

But relieved that I've got the vocabulary now to know why I didn't remember things well in the past. I literally couldn't. So I'm doing my best.

And I know I was already too much for a lot of people but 💁‍♀️ they can go find less (and most already have 💅).

I hit my worst chronic illness flare-up ever, but this one landed me in the hospital and out of work for 3 months.

It's been a lot of trial & error, a lot of grieving, and a lot of coming to terms with who I am despite how other people choose to accept me.

I'm no longer allowing other people's ableism to erode my self-esteem...not that I've enough blood flow to my brain for that cognitive labor, anyways. 💁‍♀️

Why diagnosis is important to chronically ill patients

As someone just getting into medicine from the patient perspective, I am having quite an interesting experience lately. I've got lots of medical trauma in my history, being medicated by authority figures armchair diagnosing me. Did you know there's an immunization schedule for adults?! 'Cause I sure didn't. Up until December, I pushed through all my symptoms even as they kept escalating....
