Organizers say the Bison Arena is reopening after five years, and new attractions include the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show and a permanent spot for Chunky Chet’s Cookies.

Favorites like the Budweiser Clydesdales, goat yoga, and pig races are back. A new rule requires all dogs to be under owners’ control. Advance tickets are $4 for kids 6-12, seniors over 60, and military; $7 for ages 13 and up.

Cary Brinegar had not planned to be an artist, but that’s the direction his journey is taking him.

His show of drawings and mixed media, “Journey,” is now open at The Gallery in Sams Hall of Fine Arts on the Kansas Wesleyan University and runs through Sept. 20. A reception is planned for 5 p.m. Aug. 27, with remarks at 5:30.
