العمل والممارسة

• حكّاء بصري يوثّق التراث واليومي والإنساني في السودان والمهجر.

• مشاركات: مهرجان فيجوال آرت (2012)، معرض جوبا (2011)، ملتقى المقرن للصورة (2015)، حكاوي النيل (2013).

• حملات ومشروعات مدنية وتجارية: حملات MTN وصور تطبيق مشوار، جسرٌ بين الثقافة والخدمة العامة.

الإنجازات والتكريم

• التأهل للمرحلة الأخيرة في جائزة حمدان بن محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم الدولية للتصوير (HIPA).

• شهادات تقدير من معهد الشارقة للتراث لمساهماته في أسبوع التراث السوداني.

• عضو مؤسِّس ومساهم فعّال في مجموعة المصورين السودانيين لبناء أرشيف بصري وفضاء تعلّم.

• فصول متقدمة وورش مع معهد جوته («الأزمنة الحديثة» 2015) ومعارض إقليمية متعددة.

• عروض دولية، منها مركز لوكيرين الثقافي (بلجيكا) مع مصورين سودانيين.

التعليم
• درس الهندسة المعمارية في جامعة السودان للعلوم والتكنولوجيا.

الإسهام الإنساني

• خلال الحرب الراهنة، حوّل منصاته إلى منفعة عامة، مركز سريع يعتمد عليه الناس لطلب الدواء ووسائل النقل والدعم العاجل.

• يضاعف أصوات المحتاجين، يصل المتطوعين بالمستغيثين، ويُنظّم تدفق المعلومات — رعايةٌ ثابتة تُوفّر الوقت والموارد وأحياناً تُنقذ الأرواح.

• يرعى المواهب الشابة ويُبقي ذاكرة السودان الثقافية مرئية بعدسته.

مشاركات مدنية

• شارك في حوارات سياسات لدعم التصوير والتراث والسياحة في السودان — لنقل منظور الفنانين إلى دوائر القرار.

لأن الفن يشهد. ولأن المجتمع أسرع من اليأس. ولأن صفحةً تُدار بثبات وضمير يمكن أن تكون لوحة مفاتيح للأمل.

Today we celebrate Nagi Elzibair Elmalik Elhissain, a Sudanese photographer, cultural documentarian, and everyday rescuer whose work reaches far beyond the frame.

Work & Practice

• Photographer and visual storyteller archiving heritage, daily life, and community across Sudan and the diaspora.

• Exhibitions: Visual Art Festival (2012), Juba Exhibition (2011), Mugran Photo Festival (2015), River Tales (2013).

• Campaigns and civic projects: MTN campaigns and Mishwar app visuals — bridging culture and public service with intent.

Accomplishments & Recognition

• Finalist at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA).

• Certificates of Appreciation from the Sharjah Institute for Heritage for contributions to Sudanese Heritage Week.

• Founding member and active contributor to the Sudanese Photographers Group, helping build a national visual archive.

اليوم نُكرِّم: الدكتورة ندى فضل, طبيبة ومُلهِمة، تبني جسور الشفاء بين الثقافات وتزرع بصيص أمَل بين أروقة الطب والإنسانية.

من ود مدني إلى جامعة الخرطوم، نالت منحة دراسية، وبارعت في امتحاناتها، كانت الأولى في ولادتها، ثم نالت شرف التميز في علم الأمراض والجراحة، وتوجت كـ “مقيم العام” في جامعة إلينوي .

رحلتها مزدانة بإنجازات يتلألأ بها التاريخ:

• جائزة أثر القيادة 2019 من جمعية مناصرة السودانيين الأمريكيين و

اعتراف من مجتمعها بنور عطائها .

• جائزة الابتكار الريفي في علاج
HIV 2017
رافعةً صوت الأمراض التي يُغفلها البعيدون .

• أفضل مدافعة لعام 2016 من شبكة نهوض مصابي الإيدز في كارولاينا الشمالية .

• زمالة الباحثين الناشئين لعام 2008 في أبحاث السرطان، وزمالة البحث في الرعاية التلطيفية .
• المقيم المتميز لعام 2004، جامعة إلينوي.

في UNMC، تألقت في التعليم:

• مُنحت لقب عالمة التعليم بين التخصصات 2021-22

دلالة على قدرتها في نسج المعرفة عبر الحقول.

• في 2022، نالت جائزة الابتكار السريري من الجمعية الأمريكية للأمراض المعدية, اعترافًا برؤيتها في الرعاية الطبية .

• وأخيرًا، في سبتمبر 2025، حصلت على جائزة ديبرا رومبرجر للتميز في المناصرة، بفضل إصرارها ورؤيتها لمستقبل صحي عادل .

لكن، ما الجميل في حياتها يتجاوز الجوائز، تخيلوها في معرض صحي، ترحب بالأطفال السودانيين وتحفزهم حتى يَحلِقوا في سماء الطموحات. أو في ساعات الحرب ليلاً، تشغّل جلسات ECHO عبر المنصّات، لتبثّ في القلوب الشجاعة والأمل .

هي تجلس في غرف الاجتماعات مستمعة بإنسانية نادرة. وعلى وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، تكتب أشعارًا بالعربية، تداعب القلب بكلمات الأمان . وتحتسي القهوة وهي تتحدث عن أهداف التنمية المستدامة، بعينين تلمعان بحلمٍ للسودان.

تشغل عضوية مجلس إدارة وجنة الجوائز في HIV Medical Association، وتعمل كـ منسقة المناصرة لـIDSA، واختيرت في البرنامج القيادي الأول لـIDSA، دورها لا يشغله بل يُشعّ ضوئه في كل مكان

Today we honor Dr. Nada Fadul, a force of nature who turns medicine into a movement, and bridges cultures with her compassion.

With a mind sharpened in Wad Medani and Khartoum, she earned a scholarship, aced her exams, going from top of State in Sudan’s high school to honors in pathology and surgery at University of Khartoum, and Resident of the Year at University of Illinois .

Her journey is studded with luminous awards:

• 2019 Leadership Impact Award from the Sudanese American Public Affairs Association and Sudan NextGen, recognition from her own diaspora, validating how deeply she gives back .

• 2017 Fayth M. Parks Rural HIV Innovation Award, championing care in underserved areas .

• 2016 Eastern Advocate of the Year from North Carolina AIDS Action Network .

• 2008 Junior Faculty Scholar in Clinical Cancer Research (AACR/ASCO Workshop, Vail) and Palliative Care Research Scholar award (AAPHM/ACS, Snoqualmie) .

• Resident of the Year at University of Illinois, 2004 .

At UNMC, her teaching brilliance shimmers:

• Named Interprofessional Education Scholar in 2021-22, a testament to her ability to weave collaboration across disciplines .

• Honored in 2022 with the Clinical Practice Innovation Award from the Infectious Diseases Society of America, for lifting patient care to new heights .

• Most recently, in September 2025, she received the inaugural Debra J. Romberger Excellence in Advocacy Award, celebrating her tireless advocacy for equitable care and inclusive policy .

But accolades don’t tell the full story, let me share a personal touch:

I imagine her at a community health fair, greeting young Sudanese children with a warm smile, encouraging them to chase their dreams beyond borders.
Or during war-torn evenings, setting up Project ECHO sessions by candlelight and resilience, connecting frontline caregivers with guidance and hope, reminding us how courage is everyday, not just extraordinary   .

In boardrooms and symposiums, she listens with an ear for humanity. On social media, she writes poems in Arabic, verses carrying hope and home.

I picture conversations over coffee about the Sustainable Development Goals, her eyes alight, mapping possibilities for Sudan’s future.

She sits on the Board and Awards Committee of the HIV Medical Association, serves as IDSA advocacy liaison, and was selected for the inaugural IDSA Leadership Institute, roles she doesn’t just fill, but illuminate

اليوم نحتفي بطلحة جبريل، صحافيٌ سوداني، رئيس تحرير، كاتبٌ ومربٍّ إعلامي.

من مروي شمال السودان إلى مكاتب التحرير في الرباط ولندن وواشنطن، صاغ طلحة جبريل مسيرة مهنية مؤثرة وموثقة.

درس الفلسفة في جامعة محمد الخامس بالرباط، واتخذ من المغرب بيتاً للمهنة والتكوين، محاضِراً ومؤطِّراً لأجيال من الصحافيين، ومراسلاً عبر المغرب العربي وأفريقيا.

محطات ومسؤوليات
• الشرق الأوسط: بدأ من مكتب المغرب، ثم مدير مكتب واشنطن لسنوات، ومدير تحرير في لندن للطبعة المغاربية.

• رئاسة التحرير: قاد خمس صحف يومية مغربية؛ وأسهم في تأسيس ثلاثٍ منها: الصباح والجمهور والعاصمة بوست.

• الإسهام في تأسيس “الصباح” مثبت في مواد صحفية وبرامج وثائقية تناولت سيرته.

• يونايتد برس إنترناشونال (UPI): تولّى رئاسة مكتبها (مذكور على صفحته الرسمية).

• حوارات القادة: أجرى مقابلات مع 29 رئيس دولة وملكاً.

• “ذاكرة ملك”: راجع النص العربي لكتاب الملك الحسن الثاني وأشرف على طباعته.

• التدريس والإعلام: درّس ووجّه صحافيين في معاهد مغربية وأطلق فقرات وبرامج مثل «مع طلحة جبريل».

• على الدرب مع الطيب صالح (1997) سيرة يرويها الطيب صالح نفسه للصحافي الصديق.

• أيام الرباط الأولى (1999).

• صحافة تأكل أبناءها مذكّرات مهنية عن إطلاق الصحف وإدارتها والتحول الرقمي.

• محمد شكري.. جرأة الحياة (2024) سرد ممتد قائم على تسجيلات ووثائق صداقة.

• بقي ثلاثة فقط.. قصص وحكايات يهود بني ملال (2022) تحقيق إنساني وتحفُّظٌ منهجي ومصادر ميدانية.

• وتَرِد في قائمته أيضاً: المغرب.. السنوات الحرجة، محطات من تاريخ ليبيا، الصحافي، 200 كلمة خارج الصورة، سنواتي في أميركا.

البدايات
تحدّث عن نشأته المتواضعة في مروي، وعن عملٍ يدويٍ سابق، ثم نجاحه في امتحان الشهادة السودانية وحصوله على منحة للدراسة بالخارج واختياره المغرب، حيث ترسّخت مسيرته الصحفية والأكاديمية.

لماذا نحتفي به؟
لأنه جمع بين تأسيس غرف الأخبار وقيادتها، وحفظ الذاكرة الثقافية والسياسية، وتخريج أجيال من الصحافيين، وربط السودان بفضائه العربي والأفريقي في سردٍ رصينٍ ومهني.

Today we celebrate Talha Jibreel, Sudanese journalist, editor, author, and media mentor.

From Meroe in northern Sudan to editorial rooms across Rabat, London, and Washington, Talha Jibreel has built a career of record and influence.

He studied philosophy at Mohammed V University in Rabat and made Morocco a long-time professional home, teaching and guest-lecturing while reporting across North Africa and beyond. 

Highlights & leadership
• Asharq Al-Awsat: Morocco bureau chief (early career), later Washington, D.C. bureau chief for years; also managing editor in London for the Maghreb edition. 

• Editor-in-chief: Led five Moroccan dailies; helped found three of them, As-Sabah, Al-Jumhur, and Al-‘Asima Post. 

• Founding As-Sabah is also noted in press coverage and cultural programming that profiled his career.  

• United Press International (UPI): served as bureau chief (self-reported on his official page). 

• Interviews with leaders: conducted high-profile interviews with 29 heads of state and kings. 

• Royal memoir project: reviewed and refined the Arabic text of King Hassan II’s “Memories of a King (ذاكرة ملك)”, supervising its printing.  

• Teaching & media: taught and mentored journalists in Morocco; hosted cultural/current-affairs segments such as “Ma‘a Talha Jibreel”.

• On the Path with Tayeb Salih (1997) the sole book-length life story told by Sudan’s literary giant to a close friend and reporter. 

• First Days in Rabat (1999). 

• The King and the Colonel (2013) reporting on Morocco–Libya dynamics; Jibreel notes he joined the royal press pool to Tripoli. 

• Journalism Eats Its Children reflections on launching and leading Moroccan dailies and digital experiments. 

• Mohamed Choukri: Boldness of Life (2024) a decades-long document of friendship and taped conversations, shaped into a life narrative. 

• Only Three Left… Stories of the Jews of Beni Mellal (2022) an investigative, human-history project with fieldwork and archives. 

• Additional titles listed include Morocco: The Critical Years, Stations from Libya’s History, The Journalist, 200 Words Outside the Frame, and My Years in America.   

Early path
He speaks openly about humble beginnings in Meroe and working with his hands before passing Sudan’s secondary exams and earning a scholarship abroad, choosing Morocco, where his reporting and teaching life took root.  

Why he matters
Talha Jibreel’s record is a map of Arab-African journalism: founding and leading newsrooms, mentoring new voices, preserving literary and political memory, and carrying Sudan’s insight into global conversations.
