No screaming at this conference for Pennsylvania CASA Pennsylvania CASA. Trevor Brandt & all the CASA staff are just super to work with and the programming is so rewarding! I even got to chill with my photographer pal Roger Baumgarten of That Photography!

The AAR - After Action Review.

Some call it the post-mortem. Never liked that term; it's morbid and suggests pain.

Our goal is to always get better. Everyone. Production crew, venue, catering, clients.

We take notes during every job that get immediately implemented and added to our processes. What gear gets packed, who is on the crew, logistics, repairs/quarantines, operations, aesthetics, equipment - all of it. And there's photo documentation to keep in albums for reference - did we like the tech table layout & position in the room, was there a snack table nearby. People laugh when I take pix of my food (was it good) & hotel room (was it in decent proximity to session rooms), but it truly is for documentation in your event's album.

Paper notes get transferred to a document. We gather insights from others and this is all (well, most of it) shared so we all grow.

It's super-easy to share a slack channel or a google doc that all can comment on as things happen. Don't think you're going to remember things after the conference. And don't just document the bad stuff, we all remember that. Comment on the great stuff too! Remember to recognize outstanding individuals that go above and beyond or simply made you life easier.

It was chilly but picturesque this past Tuesday at the Dauphin County CASA tree lighting ceremony in Linglestown! Happy to partner with them again to create a memorable event.
