WATER DETENTION BASIN

Buckeye schools went before the
York Township Zoning Commission last Thursday Sept 3
Many questions were asked about the proposed Detention Basin including where the water will flow
It’s an extremely important question not only to take the water away from the school but to ensure it doesn’t burden residents down stream
Buckeye architects in attendance did not have the answers
The Commission voted 2-2 to deny Buckeyes request - which is a NO
The superintendent said nothing about it at last nights meeting!

Buckeye will return Oct 1 to once again try to get their plan approved

Anyone that is interested is encouraged to attend
You can hear the questions from township representatives and also ask questions to the Buckeye representatives

Did you know that with building of the
New HS will also include a
10 ft Deep Water Detention Pond

I had No Idea
Never mentioned in any design sketches
It looks to be pretty substantial- of course they haven’t advertised the size
Why do they need it?
Because the building site is the lowest point on the campus
Why choose that spot in the 177 acres in the Buckeye campus?
“Because the infrastructure is there”
That “infrastructure” that included our cost of $100k to move the Columbia Gas line

The large detention pond will be directly across from the Buckeye Library
•So much for overall aesthetics
•What about safety
•How do we protect the kids
•How do we protect the drivers on the road

Again- Why is the fence already up
A whole month with NO PERMITS
