ITV NEWS | President Trump announced today, September 2, that U.S. forces struck a Venezuelan vessel carrying drugs in the southern Caribbean. The operation marks the first military action linked to the administration’s recent warship buildup in the region.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the boat was operated by a U.S.-designated narco-terrorist group. The Pentagon has not released further details, and Venezuela’s government has yet to comment.

ITV NEWS | 🇹🇹 Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has issued a stern ultimatum to Caribbean Airlines.

After nine years without audited financial statements and millions already paid to accounting firms, the Prime Minister says the national carrier has two years to clean up its books and make its routes profitable.
Not a single flight currently generates profit, a situation Persad-Bissessar called unacceptable as taxpayer dollars continue to shoulder the losses.

Representing the private sector, he becomes the council’s fourth and final rotating leader. In his first address, Saint-Cyr emphasized unity, security, and economic recovery, stating that credible elections, currently set for November 15, will be a top priority. He called on the private sector to go beyond rhetoric and work with public institutions to help restore peace and rebuild the nation.

He also highlighted the upcoming national recognition of the historic Bois Caïman ceremony on August 14.

ITV NEWS | A 4.1 magnitude earthquake was felt in Haiti late Monday night, August 4, around 11:02 p.m.

The epicenter was near Pétion-Ville, just east of Port-au-Prince, and tremors were felt as far as the Dominican Republic. Thankfully, no injuries or damage have been reported. This quake is part of ongoing seismic activity along the Enriquillo–Plantain Garden fault zone, which has a long history of movement across the southern part of Hispaniola.

ITV NEWS | Former Florida Senator Daphne Campbell and her family have been awarded $100M in a wrongful death lawsuit after her 23-year-old son Jason was shot and killed in his sleep at the Monte Carlo Condominium in 2021.

The shooter, his girlfriend’s estranged lover, got past security at the gated complex. The jury found the property management company AKAM On-Site Inc. 57% liable, along with the condo association, security company, and tenant. Campbell says the verdict is about more than money, it’s a call for accountability and stronger protections in residential communities.
