Joining the Studio Suggs Open Audition Filmmaker Panel are Apphia Salter, Ronnie Franklin Jr., and Jessica Hurth!
- Apphia Salter is a filmmaker and visual storyteller whose creative journey began with photography in middle school. She began taking her craft seriously in high school and is now pursuing a bachelor’s degree, majoring in Communication with a concentration in Film and Video and minoring in Graphic Design. Throughout her studies, she’s worked on a range of short films across various courses. Most recently, she completed her own non-dialogue short film, set to premiere this Friday.
- Ronnie Franklin Jr. is a Memphis indie filmmaker with a passion for crafting stories that blend authenticity, emotion, and storytelling. A proud alum of the University of Memphis film program, he brings a direct approach to every project— from concept to final cut. His work reflects a deep appreciation for character-driven narratives and meaningful representation on screen and through audio. Ronnie continues to build his creative voice through film, audio, and storytelling, including his upcoming series ‘The Knight Shadows’ and an untitled web series that he is currently writing and directing.
- Jessica Hurth is a director and founder of the production company SleepyEaters. She created 'Indie Spotlight: Film & Conversation' to showcase and support independent filmmakers. Her short films, including "Hidden Thoughts," explore intimate human experiences and reflect her passion for authentic storytelling and community through film.
