MEMPHIS, Tenn. (February 25, 2026) – MVP3 Music Group has announced the signing of veteran gospel/R&B vocalist, songwriter and arranger Stanley Stewart to its publishing roster. Securing more than 100 songs, MVP3 Music Group will oversee administration, management and sync licensing of Stewart's wide-ranging catalog of original gospel, R&B and soul tunes.
A career songwriter, performer and entertainer with a success story that spans nearly six decades, Stewart recorded with The Fabulous Nu-Tones (Whitehouse Records/1967), toured with and fronted the groups ETC and the Spidells, shared billings with The Intruders, Jeter Davis, Dee Dee Warwick and more. Penning more than 500 original songs, the prolific writer has arranged and produced background vocals for multiple recording artists, including million-selling blues singer Rubye Andrews (“It’s All Over, Casanova”), and contributed to recordings by Elvin Spence and Hubert Hunter working alongside Nashville producer Ted Jarrett. Stewart's songs have been recorded by the R&B group The Ebonys as well as various choirs and soloists in Nashville and Washington D.C.
Stewart’s roots run deep at Tennessee State University, where he sang in choirs, played sousaphone and served as drum major (1968–70). He toured Europe with the Tennessee State Players Guild USO show “Rhythm Time,” appeared in the Nashville musical "Smoking Joe’s Cafe" and co-directed a 400-voice non-denominational choir for the NAACP National Convention in Nashville, where his song “Benjamin” was performed as a tribute to Dr. Benjamin Hooks.
The working relationship between MVP3 Music Group and Stewart developed as a result of the placement of Stewart's recording "I Surrender My Will" (co-written by Stewart and Michael Bohannon) in the film Hillbilly Bible (produced by Marie Pizano and anticipated to film in Fall 2026.)
