Thank you 🙏🏽 for the cards ✉️, the flowers🌸, the texts, the calls, the trees planted 🌳, and all the love ❤️ sent from Memphis.

You already know it hits a certain way when the woman who brought you into this world passes.

Some condolences were anonymous, and in other moments I was in a blur —I may not have the note to thank you for the flowers, but please know my gratitude remains.

Is this a scam? Should I report this beyond Uber?

I get these texts and a missed call from a 901 number listed as UBER. My phone rings again and a man says he’s with Uber. I told him I didn’t order anything. He repeated he had a delivery.

I asked him what was in the bag and he said, “Pineapple…,” and his voice trailed off. I had ordered Pineapple from Kroger before, so I was confused. He said, “Is this Kontji?” He mispronounced my name, but it was clearly my name he was saying.

I asked him the address where he was located and he said my actual address. So, I looked at my surveillance cameras and saw this SUV at my side door. I told him to bring my bag to the front door and leave it there. He made a U-turn and left a bag.

I called Uber Eats and they confirmed I did not order anything and they would get back with me in the app.

I’m NOT touching the bag.

✨ An Alcorn State majorette, teacher with two masters degrees, wife, mother, A.K.A from 1958, and church organist (we had a Hammond in the basement). Mommy lived her life with quiet dignity and integrity — a true Mississippi Southern belle until the end. Now she is at peace and reunited with my father, John. 🌸 In the arms of her father, Rev. E. E. Spencer, and First Lady Pauline.

I love you eternally, mommy. Our Lady Doris.

I’m so grateful for the grace, kindness, and prayers that surround me — from family, friends and coworkers. Your love is carrying me. 💙
