Introducing Blues: Lore & Legends, an in-the-works anthology series from Thrill Comics that dives deep into the eerie crossroads of music and myth.

With cover art by Ryan Ladner and other Memphis-area artists, this first issue features hauntingly soulful tales inspired by legends of the blues. Witness a fiery retelling of the night B.B. King risked it all for his guitar. Follow Ma Rainey as she uses her powerful voice to help a detective track a killer through the spiritual underworld of the Delta.

Louise Simonson is one of the most influential writers and editors in comics, shaping some of the biggest stories in superhero history. As an editor at Marvel, she helped guide Chris Claremont’s legendary X-Men run, but she made an even bigger impact when she stepped into writing herself.

At Marvel, Simonson created Power Pack, one of the first superhero teams starring kids as real, relatable heroes. Her work on X-Factor introduced Apocalypse, one of the X-Men’s greatest villains. Later, at DC, she played a key role in The Death of Superman, making her part of one of the most famous comic book events of all time.

Simonson’s influence can still be felt today, as her characters and stories continue to shape modern comics. Her writing brought emotional depth, strong character development, and high-stakes storytelling, proving that superhero comics could be both thrilling and heartfelt.

Women's History Month Spotlight - Trina Robbins

Trina Robbins was a pioneer for women in comics, both as a creator and historian. In 1970, she co-created It Ain't Me, Babe, the first all-women underground comic, paving the way for feminist storytelling. She later became the first woman to officially draw Wonder Woman, bringing a fresh perspective to the iconic hero.

Beyond her own work, Robbins dedicated herself to preserving the history of women in comics, ensuring that female creators of the past were remembered. Her book Pretty in Ink documented their impact, proving that women had always been a vital part of the industry. As an artist, writer, and historian, Robbins helped reshape comics, making them a more inclusive space for future generations.
