What is Winning Cures Everything?
Gary Segars and Chris Giannini, both from just outside of Memphis, TN, were friends from elementary school through high school. Gary moved to another town shortly after, and spent most of his time touring in a rock band called “Prosevere,” while Chris planted his roots in their hometown.
Both have always been avid sports fans. Gary created the now infamous “Memphis Tider” blog that became big during the Alabama coaching search that landed Nick Saban in Tuscaloosa. After putting that website to rest, he started Winning Cures Everything in 2012 with Ben Price, who is now working in the athletic department at Boise State University.
Originally just a website, Chris came to Gary with the idea of starting a sports podcast. The two started out recording shows in August of 2016 by using an old iPhone 4 sitting on a table between them to record the audio.
Eventually, the studio grew. The duo invested in new microphones, headphones, a new audio interface, etc, and now, not only do multiple podcasts a week, but also go live on Facebook and Periscope, and invite guests on regularly, including some of the biggest names in sports media.
