We’ve had a lot of questions about our Viper Winter Blast Clinics and what they will include. Many have asked, “Will the clinics cover hitting, setting, passing, and serving?” Yes—but...🤔

But we’re taking a purposeful approach: become a better athlete, then become a better volleyball player. We are opening this to our 11 & 12s as well so that they can also benefit from this training! Before athletes can execute volleyball skills consistently, they must master the functional movement patterns that make those skills possible. That’s where our Winter Blast Clinics begin!🥶

For example:

-Proper throwing mechanics are required for serving and hitting.
-Squatting and hinging form the foundation of all defensive movement and passing.
-Running backward with control allows athletes to set balls coming over their head, pass deep serves, & hit an overpass.
-Tracking a ball in flight is essential for all volleyball skills.
-Independent arm movement is needed for great passing, digging & defensive reactions.
-Falling and recovering safely keeps players healthy and keeps rallies alive.

These clinics teach the movement foundations first, then apply them to volleyball skills. This builds correct habits and reinforces a critical developmental principle:
You can’t undo a bad habit—you must create a new, correct one through repetition. Good movement repeated consistently form the neuropathways that make volleyball skills automatic! 🧠

Our goal is simple:
Build better movers → build better athletes → build better volleyball players! 🏐

It's not a regular Friday. It's Fire Pit Friday at WJ Freeman Park 6pm tonight. Bring a chair. Bring a cooler. Order a pizza. Parks will have the concession stand open with hot chocolate, apple cider, hotdogs, popcorn, and nachos. The Westerly at Union Depot will be supplying s'more (while supplies last). Come hang out with some cool people and make some new friends. I'm toying with the idea of a "singles fire pit" but let's see how this goes first.
