Hog-eyed Man is an Athens-based acoustic band comprised of fiddler Jason Cade and multi-instrumentalist Rob McMaken. Drawing primarily on the archaic tunes and pre-radio aesthetics of Southern Appalachian fiddling traditions, Jason and Rob have forged a compelling and authentic style of old-time music, both reflecting deep respect for the past masters and carrying the musical conversation forward to the present era. Joined on their sixth album by multi-instrumentalist Paddy “Otis” League and banjoist Michael Starkey, Hog-Eyed Man’s "Across the Sea" continues their fine legacy of breathing new life into traditional music styles and redefining the boundaries of that music while remaining firmly rooted in the ways of the old masters. Music does mean something, Hog-Eyed Man are ample, and aural, proof of that.

To honor the legacy of Clifton Chenier – AKA The King of Zydeco – on what would have been his 100th birthday, we’ve gathered an all-star cast of Louisiana musicians as well as artists from around the country to honor Clifton’s influence and his uncanny ability to unite traditionalists, rock ‘n’ rollers and Louisiana with the rest of the world. We hope you enjoy our tribute to the undisputed King of Zydeco, recorded in Lafayette, Louisiana where even the “crawfish got soul!”
