Why are we taxing the sale of kids 4H animals?

I was listening to music while cleaning this morning and I started feeling like I should share something that I've only told a handful of people before.
Some of you who know me in real life know that we lost our son back in February of 2024. That period in time was unimaginably difficult. Even now, writing this, I physically feel the ache.
I don't talk about my faith much on here, this page is really just for my farm. But I got to thinking this morning that maybe someone who follows my page or happens to see this pushed on the algorithm might need to hear something.
You are precious. You are loved. I love you. That doesn't mean people will always approve of your choices, no one can approve of everything anyone else does, in reality. But you are loved.
Laying in the hospital room after delivering our baby was the only time I felt I could drop all pretenses and grieve my boy. I didn't have to be strong and keep it together. I didn't have to worry about finding something funny and laughing, perhaps giving the impression to anyone passing by that I wasn't deeply deeply heartbroken. At night, I could walk to the infant cooling bed they had set up in my room, and take my sweet baby back to bed with me to rock him and sing. That was our time. I stayed three days in the hospital, solely so that I could have those nights with him. I knew I would never get more time to hold him, sing to him, or rock him, as I did all of our other babies. As I broke down and got his little blanket damp with tears, I had the gentle gradual sensation that I was being held, too. Like someone was holding me as I cried and rocked just like I was holding my son. I am firmly convinced that was Jesus. He held me. There wasn't any voice to break the silence I needed, there weren't any grand lights or visions or anything like that, just a soft sense of comfort in not being alone and being loved through the wreckage.
I felt it again when the woman in the room next to mine was getting ready to deliver her own baby. I could hear and identify the different stages she went through since I had just went through my fourth childbirth. When her baby took its first breath and cried, my husband and I both stopped and looked at each other and smiled. Bittersweet is still sweet. Sometimes the answer to your prayers isn't yes, even when you desperately wish it was... But there is still light and love and wonderful things in the world... "Perfect" doesn't exist, but "beautiful" sure does.
I felt like I was tearing out my own heart when I laid him in the baby bed the funeral home brought to the hospital. Honestly, I don't think I was ready. I needed more time. But I felt that love again, helping me through the moment, along with my husband's love. We both cried when our baby went out the door without us. But remembering that Jesus was right there with me and knew what I was going through exactly, helped...
Getting home from the hospital and recovering from childbirth without my baby was... There really just aren't words for it... But still, when I least expected it, I felt that comfort again. Maybe I was just laying attention. I don't know. But I sure needed it. And remembering it has gotten me through other heartbreaks that followed.
Maybe you're going through something really really hard. Maybe it's just life wearing on you. Maybe you're just feeling unloved.
I hope that you are able to accept the love of Christ. There is no peace greater than that.
If you haven't accepted Christ, or maybe you have and then feel as if He's not with you anymore or even that He's turned His back on you and your needs, I hope you reconsider. Some people struggle in life, it's true. Some people have horrible things happen or they see things no one should ever see, in a perfect world. But we don't live in a perfect world, yet. The next best thing is to be loved through it by the One who loves you the most...

For dinner tonight I made brown rice in the instant pot and then diced chicken, browned it in a cast iron pan, seasoned it with salt, pepper, oregano, and paprika, then added a jar of sun dried tomatoes with oil and spices and two heaping handfuls of spinach. To finish it off, I added a couple cups of cream and let it simmer until the sauce slightly thickened.
The chicken and veggies were put over the rice and as it cooled enough to eat, the rice soaked up the extra sauce. It's excellent. ๐Ÿ™‚
What did you make for dinner?

STOP trying to rehome dogs that are a bite risk to others! ESPECIALLY after they've already bitten your own child AND the last person who took them in! ๐Ÿ˜ก
Dogs are NOT people. All dogs do NOT deserve multiple chances. Euthanasia IS the best option for dogs like this.
Passing off your aggressive dog to multiple homes with the hope that one will stick is a disservice to the dog. It's cowardly. ๐Ÿคท I said what I said.

Is anyone else collecting or keeping an eye out for good quality things for their kids to start out with as adults? Kind of like a modern day trousseau. Which, I had to Google to make sure I was spelling right. ๐Ÿคช
On my list for my kiddos is; good stainless steel cooking utensils, pots, and pans, cast iron pans/Dutch ovens, good quality stainless steel silverware, quilts, cotton sheets and other linens, sturdy rolling pins, handmade mugs, stainless steel cups and bowls, copies of my favorite cookbooks/books on real skills, metal measuring spoons and measuring cups, maybe a couple nice rugs, and plain but good quality curtains.
I remember starting out with next to nothing when my husband and I moved into our first house. We had exactly two pans, no silverware, three bowls, one popcorn bowl that we never used, and one towel each. ๐Ÿ˜‚ For the first year, we had blankets thumbtacked to the windows for privacy, zero decor, and only the faintest idea of how to cook. My poor husband persevered through pork chops so tough you could almost cut the rest of your dinner up with it, too-sweet orange chicken that literally no one could eat, and one pan of chili that we still wonder why it tasted like fish. ๐Ÿคท We never did figure that last one out, and we still talk about it to this day. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿคฆ
In an effort to make my own children's first year out of the house easier, when that day comes, I hope to present them with the start of tools they can make their house into a home with. Of course, I hope they will be gathering their own things to flesh out their style as they get closer, but a good set of the basic things will be a good start.

Edited to add, even though now I feel pretty stupid; Oh really. That posted. But not the whole long drawn out post I had typed up about tomato sauces, huh? Real content? ๐Ÿซ ๐Ÿคฆ

Just so you know, if you post pictures of your livestock on Facebook and they pop up on my feed when my children catch a glimpse of my phone screen, they WILL ask if we're buying them. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฆ
Apparently I'm a bad influence, money grows on trees, we don't have enough animals to feed and water yet, and everyone's livestock are for sale. ๐Ÿ˜

I caved and went to Meta support. Great lot of help that was. Apparently, I'm being forced into time out. "You've been posting too much!" Says the algorithm that has changed the monetary compensation for engagement to very very low amounts. I don't even have an account set up to receive the *very very low* amount of compensation I've earned. I've been debating just not setting it up. I was initially thrilled to get monetized. But now... It seems like a great game of Gotcha! ๐Ÿซ
So, in closing, post! Post a lot! Get those bonuses! Wait, no more bonuses for you! Post a lot instead! Theore you post the better! Engage with your audience! It helps you grow your page! Wait, no! Not with new people! That's not allowed. Don't interact with anyone either. That's also not allowed. Just keep to yourself. That'll help! ๐Ÿซ ๐Ÿซ ๐Ÿซ

Annnnd this is what it tells me every time I try to post in a group. "You may have posted something like this before" or some such absolute malarkey. ๐Ÿ˜‘
Once, I attempted to only post, "This is a test." And it was STILL denied.
