There is still time left to cast your vote and help save a life during this year’s Boots and Badges Blood Drive.

They will be taking donors until 6 p.m. this evening in the Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church.

At the time of this post, the Badges were ahead with 24 to the Boots’ 23 donors.

FILL A BUS event this Saturday at Walmart in Mena

In conjunction with this year's BACK TO SCHOOL BASH for all Polk County students, there will be an opportunity to FILL A BUS on Saturday, June 20, at the Mena Walmart from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Just purchase school supplies and then drop them off in the (school) bus on your way out of the store.

As for monetary donations, those can be made through the nonprofit organization L.E.A.F. (Let's Elevate All Families), a registered 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization.

Checks made out to L.E.A.F. can be b brought to Tim's Yamaha, Mena Insurance, Mena High School between Monday and Thursday, or call 479-216-0160 to make arrangements. The checks will go into a special account for the Back to School Bash.
