I had a double foraging tour today for the same returning client from past years. We started by picking European black elderberries then went after red huckleberries and a handful of mushrooms including lobster and chanterelle mushrooms. What a beautiful day on the Mendocino Coast.

Today we had a really fun hunt with returning guests from a neighbouring county, Natalya Bokhantseva and of course the infamous Jimmy the dog. Together with my daughter we guided them through lush coastal forestland eating berries along the way. We also picked a handful of prime lobster mushrooms and even more that were past prime for the natural dye making workshop with Michael Spurgeon coming up next month. The energy and determination of this crew is next level.
