Mercer County Commissioner Tim McGonigle has recently stated that the Bronze figures that sat on the top of the Civil War Monument in front of the Mercer County Court House is being repaired by an Ohio Company. Photos showing that repairs have started on the figures but the finished date has not been reported. But the good news is that it is being repaired and will be replaced when completed. When that date is announced it is hoped that Isaac Eaton Camp No 504 will arrange a Memorial ceremony to mark the occasion. In 1998 the Western Penna. Civil War Reenactors Society celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the Civil War Monument. Now is the time to celebrate the replacement of the monument. We will let everyone know when that day arrives.
