As a mom I have grown to love short-stories! It’s a great way to sneak in some reading when you have limited time and struggle with putting a book down once you start! Yay!! It’s Jane Austen’s birthday!! She is one of THE most influential writers of all time and her work is still sparking the imagination of writers, directors and artists today! While people may struggle with the language of her writing, her stories are universally relatable and prove this with the countless adaptations into film with a new Emma movie coming about this next year! We recently watched a show about time travel in which a magically time piece allowed someone from the past to travel to the future to our current time. After watching the show we talked about all the things that a time traveler would have to learn to “blend in.” Things like the words and slang we use, different technology and how it would be helpful to have a “guide book.” So, we made one for 2019! Struggling with deciding what to get your kids for Christmas?! We went to this "strategy" last year and not only did it save us from going overboard and spending way to much, it ensured each kiddo had the same amount of gifts!! Although I did two different something to wears (shoes and clothes).
