Good to see progress locally.

Today we had the pleasure of celebrating a relocation ribbon cutting for Edward Jones – Katie Helmstadter!

While Katie has proudly called Merrill home for quite some time, we’re excited to now have her office right here in our community as well. This move allows her to more conveniently serve local individuals and families with her personalized approach to financial planning.

Each Edward Jones advisor brings their own strengths and specialties, and Katie’s office adds even more depth and resources for our community members as they plan for their financial futures.

We’re thrilled to see her business continue to grow right here in Merrill, please join us in congratulating Katie on her new location and wishing her continued success!

Help is needed; it looks cool!

The Christmas season is fast approaching!
The Chamber is reaching out, to not only our members but the community as well, and are wondering if you still would like the Christmas wreath to be displayed at the Lincoln County Courthouse each year.

If so, we need volunteers to help with the set-up and take-down each year. Ideally, it takes 20 strong people to do this.

We will also be looking for a new coordinator/director to oversee the proper set-up and take-down. Dan Frick has graciously done this since he made the wreath. He is ready to pass the torch, but is willing to train the next individual.

Please respond by filling out the below Google survey by Friday 11/14/25. If we get enough support, we will follow up with those interested to coordinate the setup date.

Tourist & Locals be aware.

The latest information available is:

The park is trying to contact anyone with reservations to inform them of the current stuation. It is not possible to drive through the Park. The Beach and Boat landing remain closed as well as access by bike or by pedestrians. Please stay away at this time to allow workers to clear the roads without people being in their way.

The Park office phone number is 715-536-8773. Any updates will be posted here when they are received from the Park Manager. Please don't call unless you have a concern about a reservation to allow staff time to check out all the roads and trails.

July 7, 2025. We will have u-pick, and pre-pick tomorrow at Cup and Cone later in morning.

U-pick will start at 7 am and we will close at noon or potentially earlier if we pick out. We are wrapping up Cavendish, and we’ve already made a good start on our late varieties tonight.

Wonderful tourist accomplishment!

The Great Pinery Heritage Waterway has officially been designated as a National Trail by the U.S. Department of the Interior, adding 20.8 miles to the National Trails System!

We’re incredibly thankful to all the passionate individuals and organizations who worked tirelessly to achieve this special designation.

Stretching from Tomahawk to Wausau, this beautiful segment takes you through scenic forests, past historic bridges, and provides abundant wildlife viewing opportunities. We’re proud that this part of the Great Pinery Heritage Waterway is now officially included in a nationwide network of more than 1,300 trails - truly something special for Central Wisconsin communities!

The overall water trail is 108 miles long and this is the perfect time to explore both the National trail portion and the entire Great Pinery Heritage Waterway.
