Two South Shore Line stations in Chicago will close Saturday and Sunday to accommodate construction. Buses will be used to transport riders between Millennium Station and Metra’s 18th Street Station, a ride of about 10 minutes, the railroad announced Monday.

The current section of the project will result in train station closures to accommodate.

A ‘Change.org’ petition titled “Stop Data Centers in Hobart, Indiana — Protect Our Community” is urging city leaders to reject all current and future data center proposals. The petition argues that the large-scale facilities would strain local water and power supplies, while also increasing noise and air pollution. These changes would alter the city’s character without providing significant benefits locally.

The anti-data center movement in Hobart has gained significant momentum since this February.

This week marks the start of our 15th season on Lakeshore Public Media. (And in true Shep fashion, it's a rerun of a previously aired program.)

"Sundays with Shep" began as a series of holiday filler specials. It eventually evolved into a weekly program in 2011. We've created almost 700 unique programs during that time and have only scratched the surface of Shep's massive online archive.

I thank everyone who has taken the time to listen during the first 14 years. Please continue to spread the word to your friends and don't hesitate to reach out with your feedback.
