The Cabin That Waited 100 Years for Its Next Visitor... 🌲👁️
The cabin had no address.
No maps showed it. No trails led to it. Yet every few years, someone claimed they had stumbled upon an abandoned wooden house hidden deep within the forest—only for it to disappear before anyone else could find it.
Ethan laughed at the stories.
As a wildlife photographer, he had spent years exploring remote forests across America. Ghost stories didn't scare him. They made for good campfire entertainment.
Until the evening he found the cabin.
It stood silently among towering pine trees, its weathered walls covered in thick vines and moss. Every window was empty, like dark eyes staring into the fading light. A cold mist drifted around the foundation even though the rest of the forest was dry.
Curious, Ethan stepped inside.
The air smelled of damp wood and something older... something forgotten.
Dust coated every surface, except for a single rocking chair in the center of the room. It moved slowly on its own.
Back...
Forth...
Back...
Forth...
"There has to be a draft," Ethan whispered, raising his camera.
The flash exploded.
For a split second, the room was full.
Dozens of pale figures stood silently around him.
When the light faded, they were gone.
Heart pounding, Ethan checked the photo.
The cabin looked empty.
Except for one thing.
Behind the rocking chair stood a woman with long black hair covering her face.
He hadn't seen her.
He turned around.
No one.
The cabin was silent again.
Suddenly...
Knock.
Three slow knocks echoed from the attic.
Knock.
Knock.
Knock.
Every instinct screamed at him to leave.
Instead, curiosity won.
He climbed the creaking staircase.
The attic door was already open.
Inside was nothing but an old mirror leaning against the wall.
As Ethan stepped closer, he noticed his reflection wasn't copying him.
It smiled.
He didn't.
His reflection slowly raised one hand.
Ethan stood perfectly still.
Then the reflection whispered.
"Thank you for coming back."
The mirror shattered without warning.
A freezing wind burst through the attic.
The entire cabin groaned as if waking from a long sleep.
Ethan ran.
Branches clawed at his clothes while the fog thickened behind him.
He never looked back.
The next morning, park rangers searched the area using his GPS coordinates.
There was no cabin.
No clearing.
No footprints.
Nothing.
Only Ethan's camera was found lying beside an ancient pine tree.
The final photograph was still stored on the memory card.
It showed Ethan standing in front of the abandoned cabin.
Looking directly out from one of the upstairs windows...
..was Ethan himself.
Smiling.
