For our family, we are always navigating the world of keeping up with the online dangers that our kids are facing, many of which they may be oblivious to. Jillian Ashby, who is the Community Outreach Coordinator with the Arizona State Government Attorney Generals Office, sat down with us and talked about some of the dangers lurking on the other side of our kid’s screens and gave some ideas to help inform ourselves as parents.

Today we highlight Carol Melim from Lighthouse Psychiatry Brain Health Center. Carol is an EMDR certified Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in working with children, teens, adults, and families who have challenges with ADHD, adoption, anxiety, depression, loss and grief, mood disorder, oppositional defiance, trauma, and victims of abuse and neglect.

Carol spoke to us about behavioral interventions to prevent out of home placements and here is a little spoiler alert…your support system matters more than you may think.

Back to School time, especially for families with kids who have a disability, can be stressful and often times we wish that we had someone in our corner who could advocate and fight for our kids needs.
