Friday night lights are back on 88.7 The Pulse. The student-run radio station at the East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) will broadcast nine East Valley high school football games during the 2025 regular season, offering fans live, play-by-play coverage of some of Arizona’s top matchups.

🥈 Asa Lindsay & Matthew Cavazos – Silver Medalists in Audio Production (College/Post-Secondary Division)
🥉 Shoutout to Trent Williams, EVIT Radio/Audio Production grad, who earned 3rd place representing Utah Valley University!

Their talent, teamwork, and professionalism on the national stage represented 88.7 The Pulse, the EVIT Radio/Audio Program, and SkillsUSA Arizona with pride and passion.

This week, we are featuring several of our graduating seniors as part of our “6th Annual EVIT 88.7 The Pulse Radio Senior Salute.” Today, meet John Macias Ortega. After EVIT, he “plans to get a job somewhere around audio production.” He’ll also be doing an electrical apprenticeship program and eventually wants to start his own electrical business. His favorite EVIT memories involve singing karaoke with his friends, and working on the Post Production projects. And a “fun” fact about John is that he shares the same birthday as the famous movie actor Gong Yoo in the movie SquidGame! Congratulations & good luck John!

This week, we are featuring several of our graduating seniors as part of our “6th Annual EVIT 88.7 The Pulse Radio Senior Salute. Today, meet Skylar Davidson. Skylar was one of the lead engineers for our high school football, basketball & baseball/softball broadcasts throughout the school year. After EVIT, Sklyar plans to attend CRAS (Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences). Skylar’s favorite EVIT memory involves running the board for several hours during Rock-A-thon. And a “fun” fact about Skylar is that they like to draw and have two dogs, named Sunny and Rukia, “as well as a cat that isn't actually mine but I have befriended while walking to school this year!” Congratulations & good luck Skylar!
