how could this tub fill up?
I removed the hardware a while back because it broke and I just haven't had a chance to fix it. This is a rarely used tub anyway how did it fill up because it doesn't just turn on? We have a leak beneath it showing up on our ceiling below

How should I fix this uneven floor and gap?
To try and keep this shortish, I have a house with crawlspace foundation. Several owners ago the attached two car garage was split with one side being converted to a bonus room while the other remained a garage. The garage and bonus room are on a concrete slab that connects to the crawlspace foundation wall.

Anyway the current state of the project is to replace the carpet in the bonus room which is our home gym. Replacement flooring plan was to lay down some 6mil polyethylene v***r barrier, then plywood subfloor, then 3/8inch rubber floor rolls we ordered. The plywood was going down to raise the floor up slightly because the opening from the room into the rest of the house has about a 2inch step. I figured this could make that step a bit smaller.

My issue is one corner of the carpet had sloped upward. The corner is the one where the slab meets the crawlspace wall and the front of the house (basically where the garage door would have met the house). I peeled the carpet back and found some cracked self leveler(?) that was used because I think this is a floating slab. The perimeter looks to be a concrete wall with a small gap between the slab, but the slab sits about 2” lower than the wall. The pictures may better explain the situation.

How'd I do? Probably the most labor intensive job I've done yet
Epoxy grout on floors and walls all. Schluter shower base goboard walls. The small hexagons did not come in sheets and took forever, grouting was insane with the deco wall tile + epoxy + for the whole job it's a hot upstairs attic space in an old home being converted to a room so it didn't have good airflow and I was just dripping sweat many days working on this. It's far from perfect but I'm still proud of how it came out and I think it looks nice. This is my design and choices with influence from a couple others. Cheers!

Ongoing flooring saga - honest opinion as to how to approach this please
Hi all, so we've had our hallway tiled, and we know it's an awful job. The tiler said he could do it, and clearly couldn't. He did the living room as well, and after a false start it's an OK job.

We've not paid him yet, and he didn't ask for a deposit, are we within our rights to refuse to pay him for this? I'm assuming most of the tiles can't be reused so having it done from scratch by someone else will mean buying the tiles again (he bought them and included in the total price)?

He gave an overall quote for both rooms, if I do refuse to pay for this should I just pay half? The quote was not itemised, but the hall tiles were much more expensive.

We're trying to find another local company to come and have a look and give us a professional opinion and hopefully quote to redo it.

Tile floor to wall transition?
The hex is the floor. Solid grey is the wall. I had a salesperson tell me to use caulk at the transition. Any better options? I saw this quarter round, would this work? Not sure how to mortar it in and grout it in this situation. Might also be a soap scum, hair, dirt, depository over time?

Please God talk me out of this.
Moved into a 3 storey house last November. Bannister has 92 of those...'spindly things'. The banister, especially the corner pieces with the wooden balls look pretty manky. I've seen the other post today on the very same subject. My partner is also on Reddit and will (hopefully) laugh along at the comments. Please don't hold back. Tell us not to even contemplate stripping the paint off this monster.

From a small single shower to a double - Full bathroom reno 🚿
Recently remodeled primary bathroom and created a larger shower!

The biggest change was removing a closet that was located on the other side of the original shower and using that space to expand the shower into a much larger walk-in shower (seen in before photos).

We also closed off the original bathroom window because we wanted a full wall for a large mirror. Since we lost that natural light source, we added recessed lighting and finished the ceiling with drywall for a cleaner look.

To bring natural light back into the space, we added a window in the primary bedroom wall directly across from the bathroom doorway. When you’re standing in the bathroom and looking out through the doorway, the new window is straight ahead, which helps pull natural light into the bathroom from the bedroom.

We also closed off the original opening on the right side of the bathroom (where I was standing in the before photos) to improve the layout and make the space feel more cohesive as the doorway was right next to the house’s front door. This allowed it to be truly a master bath opposed to a shared bath by everyone.

Still have to add a few styling items, but 98% finished!

Brand new shower, grout still looks wet 12 hours after shower
This is a $20k bathroom shower remodel. I’m not going to use all the right words so please forgive me. We picked a tile redi pan and epoxy grout for the shower. Grout was done a couple of weeks ago so it should be cured. All the perpendicular edges have a ceramic/sanded caulk (not silicone). We’ve only had three showers so far. My husband took a shower about 12 hours ago but the grout still looks wet? I got after our contractors to ensure they were using the correct thinset when installing the pan. They used a schluter on some of the joints higher up but I had them purchase the correct thinset for everything else. We called redi tile and they said this should be fine. Walls are kerdi board. The drain does have the schluter bead line (?) metal ends to cap off the tiles. I don’t know, I’m lost. I’m bathroom poor. And I just want to enjoy my primary bathroom. Please help me understand what’s happening here.

Grout ideas?
First wet room/shower I have done with porcelain “rock”. They have a big, medium and small size. We had to use mainly the small and medium ones for the floor. I’m not really sure what to grout it with since there are gaps up to 2-2 1/2 inches. Custom Saltillo is the best thing I’ve found so far. I wanted to use Ardex WJ 50 but it’s only in Australia. Also TileBar sold the homeowner this tile for a shower when it’s supposedly not meant to be put in showers.

Tiles in niche cracking
I've got a crack developing in some work I did a year ago. Started off just one tile, now it's three or four.

The clients will be opening up the backside of the wall to investigate today. There is plumbing above it so I suspect they may have a slow leak that's warping the wood. I'll know more later.

Hairline crack is left to right in the four tiles above the niche.
