To this day, still one of the coolest bulls I’ve ever laid eyes on. We had this bull dead to rights for a LONG time inside 500 yards. A chip shot with our systems. He even bedded down right out in front of us for over 30 min till dark.
I had a special client with me, a raffle tag winner, and the boss man of course wanted a 400”+ bull for him. We debated a little bit but ultimately he didn’t think this bull would score over 400….so I let him walk. 🙄
This was 2019 in unit 10. I wonder all the time if anyone ever harvested him. He wasn’t a secret. A few badasses who spend a lot of time in there also knew of him but I never heard of anyone ever tagging him.
You may notice his limp. Short story, but we watched him come in hot, fired up for a fight. Another mature bull was bugling from the trees and this guy was on a mission. It must have been an epic battle. I wished I could have seen it because a while later this bull came back out from the trees limping and with a busted 3rd.
If you’ve hunted unit 10 you know it produces some incredible specimens. My phone is flush with big beautiful bulls from that unit but this one kinda haunts me still. His character is to die for!
As for the hunter, well he came back the following year and got his 400+ bull. I was happy for him and the outfitter but this bull was special to me and I don’t think I’ve ever shared his image online.
If anyone knows of a lucky hunter who’s got this guy on a wall somewhere please let me know. I’m happy to share all the pics and vids I have of him.
