The New Orleans Central City LIons is a part of Lions Clubs International, a network of volunteers who work together to answer the needs of their communities. The New Orleans Central City Lions Club was founded in 1972 by a group of young businessmen looking for ways to serve their community. In 1987, when Lions Clubs International first opened its ranks to women, the New Orleans Central City Lions Club embraced this change and continues today to promote diversity in their membership. Our club supports our State Projects, the Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation and the Louisiana Lions Children's Camp and many projects in our local community.

New Orleans Central City Lions prepared a bag lunch for the homeless and under-homed of the New Orleans area at Lantern Light today. We were joined by members of the Filipino American Lions Club.

We also had some college students help out.

Every child deserves a safe, loving home. CASA Jefferson advocates for children in foster care, ensuring they have a voice and a path to stability.

The Lions of New Orleans Central City attended the first Cabinet meeting of DG Alden Merto. Lion Jennifer Van Vrancken presented a proclamation from the Jefferson Parish Council recognizing Lion’s Awareness Day.

We were also recognized with a Global Action Team Certificate.
